ive been dreaming of squaresoft making FFT2, but they never did.
![]() Thats why im gonna cook up my own FFT2 game. Wanna help me? It'll be fun. I already got the plot of the game (85% of it.), and most of the characters too. If you want, you can give me ideas on how the plot can be further advanced and played out. The characters here are second-generation. (Tell me if its good or not.) Plot- Its been 50 years since the Lion War ended and Ivalice was in absolute peace during that span. During this time, Ramza Beoulve, the true hero of the war has retired his knightly title and returned to Igros Castle, his home. He has married his love of 10 years and were blessed with two sons and a daughter, Meseta, Avisel and Anna. Suddenly he fell ill to a strange sickness, and knowing he wouldnt survive it, handed down the Beoulve throne to his eldest son, Meseta and named his second son Avisel, Knight Commander of his most loyal men. When the day that Ramza passed away, peace in Ivalice was shattered. A vile and tainted group called the Death Corps was once thought destroyed, but has managed to reform itself, thanks to the unerring and mysterious nephew of Wiegraf Folles, Sharda. However, Sharda has a different view of Ivalice than his uncle. He wanted to unite Ivalice under one rule, his rule. However, that would bring ultimate conflict and war. Back at Igros, Meseta and Avisel recieved a message from their father's best friend, Delita Hyral, saying that he too has been struck with an apparent illness, similiar to Ramza, and wont be able to live any longer. He also told them to watch over his only daughter, Haylie, who has been given control of the Hyral Throne because he trusted Ramza, and he knew he could also trust his sons. Few days later, Delita passed away. The Death Corps grew even stronger, after knowing that Delita has died and no one would stand in their way. Soon, many faithful citizens of Ivalice fell to Sharda, unwillingly. Not by death or harrassment, but by his mysterious dark magic and corruption. After being alarmed by these unprecedented actions, Meseta and Avisel decide to see what was going on, by visiting the White Lion Church. They were told that if Sharda gets his way, Ivalice will never see clear sky again. Meseta decides to send a army and attack, but Avisel reminds him that clearly they are doing this for the sake of Ivalice and its people, not to cover its ground with blood and fill its air with violence and fear. Meseta gratefully relents and asks how will they handle such an evil. Avisel tells him that he will do it, without Meseta's help and justifies his decision by saying, "I'm going to follow our father's footsteps. After so many years of training to become a fine knight, I am truly ready to take the path that no one sees and bring Ivalice to peace once again." I know, it's kinda bleh but its a start. Any help is greatly appreciated, example: character analysis, character development, gameplay, job formatting. really, anything is helpful. I just hope squaresoft reads this. Ehh, most likely not, but im so devoted to the game, so what the heck. If you are devoted to FFT, wouldnt you wish for FFT2 to come out? Im just saying, you never know, my idea or even yours make actually come true. You never know. -------------------- "You say life is sacred, makes you feel noble. Well, then let me ask you this. Doesn't sound too bad an opening, but it conflicts heavily with the FFT storyline in that the Beoulve family dies out before the end of the game, Ramza vanishes, and (though debatable) the ending leaves some doubt as to wether Delita would be around for a sequel.
I think my biggest gripe with it, however, is that it just doesn't "feel" like FFT. IMHO, if Square were to make a sequel, they should have entirely new characters. The game wraps itself up quite well, leaving very few loose ends. Let's not forget FFT in itself is a tale narrated by someone: he does explain how the story ends, and it would be weird for Ramza/Delita to play an other important role in Ivalice's history (such as, say, ruler) and to have it go unnoticed. Still, it's an interesting idea. With some tweaking it could be pretty good, it's headed in the right direction. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

When you say Ramza's love, are you referring to Alma? I got kinda worried there since I thought they were siblings...I always did wish there would a sequel to the game...I was kind of disappointed they only made the one on game boy. Anyway, I'm not sure about the story, but I do disagree about not using the same characters. The characters in FFT were highly likeable and it's kind of hard to kill them off. There is a lot of possibilities

Quote (Teta @ 27th July 2005 20:24) You could even go earlier back into the game where they talk about the original zodiac braves... or something about ajora. Now there's an interesting angle. The original Zodiac Brave story was twisted by the Church just like Ramza's. Who knows what truly happened? If the Zodiac Braves were demons, then maybe a group just like Ramza's had a hand in bringing peace before being deleted from history by the Church. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Maybe it's such me, but it might've been easier to just PM Teta with your information, so that other people won't have access to it. Just a thought.

Not a bad opening, acually. Although Meseta sounds rather.... lets say "hasty towards violence, shall we? Also, does Anna play any type of role in your story, much like how Alma played a (albeit small) role around Chapter Three, when Ramza needed to use her to get into Orbonne. Also, Ramza suddenly being struck with an illness seems totally open for a plot twist of some sort.
The only problem I have is that it wouldn't be very plausible for Ramza to return to Igros and take over the Beoulve throne if he has been branded a heretic, would it? I mean, why would anyone in their right mind let someone rule over them if they thought that person was a heretic? You need to explain how Ramza managed to take over the Beoulve throne. Did he somehow convince the church that he was not a heretic? Does he have any proof? These are just some of the details you need to add, or the game won't make much sense to the player. Other than that, pretty good.
