I was wandering if i should start a game on "Metal Gear Solid II Sons Of Liberity" i have the money but i've heard some good and bad things about the game. A lot of fans didn't like it as much as the first game (which is flippin' sweet so far) Asking thoughs of you who have played both games which one did you like better?. So i have to ask. Should i?

I think you should. A lotta people didn't like it 'cause of Snake's smaller role than in the previous three games (counting the NES/MSX ones there; Metal Gear Solid is technically the third game), but that seemed to be more or less a pet peeve rather than a major downfall, as the same people would give the game very high ratings regardless. The storyline is a bit...odd, and I guess you could say it's sorta rehashed, but it's still a freakin' fun game. I personally wouldn't rank it higher nor lower than any of the others...besides Metal Gear II: Solid Snake, which I've never finished.
Also, it provides info that's helpful to know when playing the other games. Plus there's always MGS2 Substance, which is packed full of unique extras making it possibly greater than the original version. I'd say give it a shot. The things that people complain about the most are the complex story and the lead character in the game, Raiden. But it seems every time a game comes out where the lead character doesn't have a "I'm a badass" attitude, some people just have to call the character a whiney pansy. The game is an improvement over the first Metal Gear Solid and it advances the overall plot of the series.
SilverFork pointed out Substance. If you can, get that instead of the regular game. It has extra missions and such. I think you get to play as Snake more and I believe there is a Tony Hawk-ish skate board mini-game or something. Just more bang for your buck. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |
