Help! character setups

ive been playing alot on FF6 recently and ive noticed that my characters dont really have very good equipment and relics, ive just got into the ruined world and i need some good equipment help please!

I usually had decent equipment by the WOR. I haven't played VI in a while, but my suggestions are to go to nearly every town and see what you can find. Another suggestion would be to try to go through all the dungeons you can find and pick up any treasure chests you find.

At the moment im just about to fight phunbaba i fought him and failed, and my characters are about lv30.

Lol when you fight Phunbaba and inflict some dmg on him he will flee.
atm where you are now there aren't any towns close where you can buy armor like diamond armor or crystal armor... Well if you got the Golem summon you should use it cause it will take all physical attacks and Phunbaba is weak vs ice and poison attacks have Sabin use pummel or a spell and celes heal and use spells. And one more thing if your low on cash the next town where you can buy a diamond vest only buy one and equip it to Sabin because in the next town you can buy diamond armor thats better (Sabin can't wear diamond armor). -------------------- I look kinda like Vince so ill pick him as my avatar. :) |

Level 30 is plenty, and unless you're prancing around in Silk Robes and Kung Fu Suits, your equipment is good enough.
Have Celes on Runic standby, use Sabin to summon Golem and then just throw Sabin on the offense. Dual Poison Knuckles are the most damaging at this point, but otherwise Suplex/Pummel will be good enough. You could even have some Earrings-boosted Bio spells coming from him, but you'll need to time them so Celes doesn't absorb them. If you're still having trouble (which shouldn't be the case); Phunbaba is still an optional opponent. You can save him for another time, when your equipment is better and you have more than two party members. -------------------- |

ohh yes. i faced that same problem on my last game. i recommend you enter the phoenix cave and get 4 guys really really good. smash some people until you get into the high levels. theres a start.
