These three enemies are very know by "veterans" players like me, I'll say my favorite is the Tonberry, because for me its represent death itself, it's pretty strong, and if he infortunately reach you, then you "die"

my favorate was the malboro, on FF8 it was a nearly impossible oppenent, but when you finally beat him, you feel like a pro.

I voted for Tonberry, just because I like how the character looks: a little green thing in a dirty robe carrying a lantern and hold a knife.

Of the enemies listed I have to give it to the tonberry. However, I really prefer the behemoths

Of those listed, I'd say Malboro for the challenge and the M-Tentacles (moreso on FFVIII), but my favorite monster of any FF is Iron Man/Giant. Those guys are cool!

Nothing spells coolness the way a cute little salamander-like cave-dwelling creature with a fish-like tail and a lantern in one hand does. Especially with the knife in the other hand.

Tonberries all the way! What else can personify death but still cute?

I like the Cactuars, yessir. I must have spent hours hunting these guys in FFVI. They're just neat looking and the first time I saw one in game I thought it was the wierdest thing I had seen yet. Tonberries are close but my sentimental fave is the Cactuar. I even have a Cactuar doll.

i remember my first encounter with a cactuar was in 7, and it blew me away. i didn't get it, how he was so 2-D and twitchy
But i still love those Tonberries. -------------------- The first duty in life is to assume a pose, and the second duty is...well, no one's found out yet. |

Apparently I'm the only one who said Ahriman...
I always enjoyed how they had several types, such as the Fatal Eyes, which were very deadly and stopped my party more than one time. As for the Veterans (of VI), who can't love floating, one-eyed, bloodlusting Ahriman? But Pugs/Tonberries are also high on the list. -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

Tonberries are the greatest, purely because anything that screams "DOINK" when it attacks you has to be awesome.

Cactuars, why?
Because it's the only "monster" in FFs taht I expressed myself with: «WTF??!?» because of their light speed movement. Especially for the arms going up and down instantly and being able to throw 1k needles in about 3 to 5 seconds... -------------------- Sayonara |

No Behemoth? Every veteran knows the behemoth...
But overall I'd say Tonberry up until 10. In 11 I hated his new look. To me they should be creepy and deadly, yet kinda' cute. 11's was just deformed and unloveble. -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

I like chocobos, although they're only heavily featured as enemies in a few games. Nothing gives me more satisfaction that killing a black chocobo before it can de-petrify one of its allies.

There's something oddly menacing about them there tonberries. Seriously, those little fish guys kind of creep me out! Maybe it's the blank stares in their eyes. Maybe it's the way they brandish those kitchen knives of theirs (reminiscent of "Psycho" or Micheal Meyers?) as they slowly and deliborately approach ye. It could also by the general ominous atmosphere of their usually haunts. Even their lanterns add a feeling of mystique. Ultimately, I'm guessing it's a combination of all the above. It also helps that they're always so goshdarned powerful

As much as I love the awesome that is tonberries... I'm gonna say my fav is the Cactuar, for the same reason as Zodiac: it's just so incredibly random. It's a friggin' walking cactuar that somehow can move really really fast.

Ah blast, now I feel like a conformist but it is true, those Tonberries are awesome who else can still mess you up late game? don't answer that it was rhetorical, and 'Everybodies Grudge' was deadly if you'd been on killing sprees and what other creature walks up to you and smothly knifes you dead?
Tonberry=Death -------------------- Everything teaches you something, not that is obvious though. |

Tonberrys are so cute
When you do beat one though, you feel so strong especially if none of your people die In FFA, They were too easy. Just kill them from afar. They did have the strongest attack in the game though. -------------------- |

Sorry to everyone for not including Behemoth, I just forgot of him...ñ_ñ. Tonberrys are sure powerful, but in FFVII I used Deathforce spell, and Tonberry couldn't kill me...
In FFVIII, I don't know why, but Tonberry's Everyone grudge damages around 5500 to Squall, ...while to other character like Quistis its only around 1000 damage. Sure weird... -------------------- "Its no cheating if you don't get caught" |

I love Cactuars in all shapes and forms. They're adorable and do raw damage, something I love to take advantage of.
