Grow RPG
You're probably all played this game where you put up stuff and things affect each other and... yeah, hard to describe. This game will either ring a bell for some of you, or won't. Basically, you have 8 objects and can place them on the map in any order. The order you place them in influences how the surrounding objects grow: for instance, placing the forest next to the house will eventually turn it into a woodshop. There's a specific order in which to place things that makes everything grow to its full potential. I've only played with this a dozen minutes or so, but couldn't win. My best solution follows. Possible spoilers: highlight to view House (Lv6), Castle (Max), Water (Max), Tree (Lv2), Tower (Max), Rocks (Lv2), Stairs (Max), Chest (Max). Water MUST be placed before turn 4. After 3 turns of jumping, the ground will break too much to place the tower. The castle requires 4 turns to survive the dragon, which occures on turn 7. The tower requires 4 turns to max out. Before turn 8, your stairs must be in place for the little guy to carry the orb to them. Unfortunately, this solution makes me die while fighting the dragon. Fun game! -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

This game rocks! I haven't beaten it yet, though. I did pretty good once, don't remember what I did.

Fun. I loved the original Grow. I found this one a bit easier then that, but still a bit of a challange. (Took me about 15-20 to figure it out)
For those who are having trouble, a few hints in a spoiler. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Town MUST be placed first to mature fully. Stairs can be placed on the last turn WARNING! SECOND SPOILER TAG BELOW GIVES ANSWER! DANGER! DANGER! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Possible spoilers: highlight to view Town (8 levels, 8 turns to mature), Forest (needs to grow before split after place 3), Castle (Last turn to mature enough to beat dragon), Water (Last turn before no room for tower), Tower (Last turn to give tower enough time to get armor 4), Rocks (Need 2 rounds to mature fully), Treasure (Treasure brings rocks to level 2, Rock needs 3 rounds), Stairs (Just in time for orb, rock matures fully, watch it and enjoy) This post has been edited by Fadien on 26th July 2005 06:43 -------------------- "And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped” -Sir Bedevere the Wise |

Hmmm. I made it all the way to where your hero squares off against the dragon, but then got massacred by the thing. Shame too. My castle and village were so cute
Anyhow. In my experience, the woods, castle, town and tower have to go in fairly early if you want them to mature. The water needs to go in once your forest has been divided into a huge expanse of woods, and a little bunch of trees on a tiny island. Edit Drat, my boyfriend figured it out before I did. Ahh well. It was worth it seeing my little people flourish. You should spoiler that for people trying to solve it on their own.
I've pulled it off earlier this afternoon. Turns out I was wrong about the water. Great game, really. Unfortunately, it gets tedious when you're tweaking combinations and have to sit through the whole thing over and over. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

It's fun but a bit easy. For those having troubles, I'd recomend looking at the levels of your stuff at the end 'cause everything needs to be maxed out in order to work. The hero barely even gets through the end alive as you can see in my screenie. As for how the solution goes exactly, sorry but I already forgot. Go figure. -------------------- |

Funny, but like said before, not as hard as the original. But the fact that there's an opponent makes it interesting. I'll fancy a couple of other games like that.

Fadien has the solution in the 2nd spoiler bit. Enjoyed the game, quite a few possibilities to say you only have 8 things. -------------------- "Die? That's the last thing i'm gonna do!" |
