Since there are so many people that are annoying in this game (sometimes), that this ain't a poll.
This award goes to Ultros, for making me fight him 3 or 4 times. (And for making me fight Chupon) Banon is annoying too...when he dies and you get a game over... ![]() |

Ziegred always annoyed me, he impersonates the greatest fighter, when he could be killed by a leafer. Seriously, if you're going to impersonate someone, at least try!

Yeah, Ultros was a real pain... the guy just can't accept defeat. I think that you fight him 3 times? Also, he comes up with stupid quotes during the battle, which ticked me off to no end and further explained why I never lost to him...

Either the Magi Master, or Hidon.
For people that don't know or use the tricks and try killing him by reducing his hitpoints to zero, is a pain the the butt. I also find it a pain getting enough coral to visit Hidon. -------------------- "Look at me! I'm a receptionist! G'fa ha ha!" Quote Ultros |

Ziegfried/Siegfried always annoys me, because he steals treasure chests, and you're left to wonder what was in them... It that super secret special item that you can't get anywhere else in the game, I know it is! Also, you always have to wonder why he's there. He's the character that leaves the most questions.

Mm lets see. First, i have to agree with the ziegfried thing. You just dont know why hes there and he steals ur treasure. Than, i hated the tank thing u fight in ffx, macalania. Mainly because his mana beam is so powerfull it wipes you out instantly. And last but not least, tidus, for touching my Yunie

I'm fairly certain you fight Ultros four times, first in the L-something river, then in the Opera House, then in the mountain outside Thamasa, then on the airship right before the Floating Continent sequence. But yeah, he wins FF6's mosquito award.

I always found Chardarnook (or however you spell it) to be the most annoying boss fight. He would always transform into the girl picture at the worst moment possible, thus ensuring a barrage of retaliation attacks.

Peepers. I like Peepers because they're so ingenious, but dammit, they always kill themselves before I can successfully swipe Elixirs from 'em!

Ultros.- same reason as everybody else
Chupon.- His Sneeze always made me go berserk, not my characters Magi Master.- I was so happy. I was gonna beat him. His HP was minimal and when i beat his: BOOM! He casts Ultima and my characters didnt have enough HP to survive This post has been edited by BlackWizardDryfe on 20th December 2004 04:45 -------------------- "Flush your problems with the rest of your crap!" ------ Palmer, FF7 "It's.... a very long story..." ------ Everybody, everywhere. Since there are three choices, I will give three awards:
The Normal Enemy Award goes to: Brachosaur. These little critters in Dino Forest were tough, Sneeze, Disaster, Swing and Ultima are all deadly abilities that annoy the heck out of me. Sure Economizer and Cat Hood were great but they almost weren't worth the trouble. I'm sure anybody who got a game over from this dino (especially if they were in tip top condition before the battle) knows what I'm talking about. The Boss Award goes to: Doom Graze. I hate his high HP and rare encounter rate. Doom Graze made getting Bahamut take hours. Doom Graze also had the nasty habit of coming at the worst possible times resulting in multiple game overs. You can't say the reward wasn't worth it though, Bahamut rules. (Even if he is just a one time use version of Ultima in this game.) Last but not least the Character Award goes to: Bannon. Health rocks but instant game overs don't. He made your first encounter with Ultros hell in a handbasket. I liked him as an actual character but the same can be said of all FF VI characters. This guy may have allot of pros but they still don't out weigh his one con to me. Another annoying thing about him is where the heck is he in WoR? I guess Bannon's motto is "When the going gets tough, the tough get going.". But even this annoying troop isn't that annoying. Lets just say, I love all of FF VI even its quirks. Pugs... one of the only potentially challenging enemies in the game, but also entirely cheap. They have super stats and little AI. Also they come from treasure chests, and when you don't know exactly what chests those are you can be completely unprepared for such a tough fight. If you lose, your last save point may be an hour away.
![]() Chupon/Baskervor... and any other enemy that casts "Sneeze". It's really the lamest attack in the game. Doom Gaze... can be very annoying if you've just gotten the airship in the WoR and he's too powerful. Also I hate how he runs away when you're wiping the floor with him. Then you gotta fly around and find him again. Magitek Factory enemies... all that physical defense really sucks when you're forced to have Locke in your party. He's nearly useless in that situation. Gau saves the day with Giga Volt (Aspik rage), but it often takes a while for him to cast it on all enemies. In the mean time you gotta pick away at the soldiers little by little. Celes' has to be in your party at that point as well, and all she has is Ice and maybe Bolt from Ramuh (Locke could have Bolt as well). Those hardly do anything. So at least half or your party totally sucks, maybe more. Cyan's attacks are physical. Edgar's are physical. Sabin's got Fire Dance which is alright. So with Gau, Sabin, Celes and Locke you can manage to get through that place without too many painfully long battles, but it's still a bit of a hassle. -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! It also took ages to reach them again when they hand your ass back to you on a silver platter. Totally forgot about those, despite the pain they gave me. MagiMaster by a mile. At least you could just easily beat Ultros down each time. Can't tell you how many times I've just left my emulator on auto and walked away to make a sandwich while fighting the MagiMaster. It's a horrible fight, especially when you berserk him and his wallchange weakness is stuck on Earth or something and you don't have any of those attacks. And don't have Edgar to Debilitator him. The most recent time I played I had Umaro in the party and just let him whack away. For like an hour. Geez...
To nominate someone from another FF game, Gilgamesh in 5. You fight him many more times than Ultros. And how about all those monsters that you can only attack in one form (Mist Dragon and Valvalis in 4, Chadarnook, etc.) This post has been edited by imperialstooge on 3rd January 2005 08:29 |

I would say the most annoying boss for me was Air Force or whatever it's called. I kept trying to steal from him and it was difficult because I wasn't killing any of its parts and it was raping me as I received the "Couldn't steal!" message. I had high levels too. Well over 30 when I was there.

No nods to Kefka, the big showdown at the end? I'm annoyed that he's so friggin' easy.
In a perfect world you should have to take a day off work to fight that final battle. You should have to fast for a few days, do some soul-searching, shave your head, a primal scream...just get your game face. Verbal Kint could do his eulogy. Hello everyone! My name is Adam and I am new to the forums.
Most annoying bosses, eh? Let's see ... Ultros: for the same reason as everyone else. That little octopus just doesn't know when enough is enough. Or does he even know that he's an octopus? He gets a job as a receptionist!! What's that all about?!? And sometimes, I'll forget to move Banon to the back row when fighting Ultros on the Lete River. Ultros uses Tentacle on Banon and BOOM!! Game over ... Chadarnook: this dude changes so fast! I'll get all my attacks ready, I'll give the commands. I'll be thinking, "YES!! He's goin' down!" Then he changes back into the woman and suddenly I'm holding my breath, wondering when my last save was. Doom Gaze: I always seem to run into him when I am the least prepared. Storm Dragon: this little guy is outright brutal. I mean, I was expecting this guy to be hard, but I didn't know how hard. And finally ... Gamma Sleep and Gamma Girl: if only there was a way I could stop these guys from casting Pearl Wind. -------------------- "I will create a monument to nonexistence!!" I have bad luck.
That said, I enter the final fight with the Esperoid(?) using my four most powerful characters. First Tier: Fun. Second Tier: Annoying, but easy. Third Tier... two enemies. I kill the thing that reminds me of Mary Mother of Christ, and then go for the thing that reminds me of Edgar if he turned blue and was lounging in his bed or something. I kill it. Woot. Then it decides to use that stupid attack that attempts to do an instant-kill on 2-3 of your characters. Not fun. I have bad luck. I don't want to waste a relic spot on something like a Safety Bit. So I lose a few of my most powerful and beloved characters before the beginning of fight with Kefka. Now I lack enthusiasm. There's no dramatic climax in the game anymore. All I'm gonna do now is cast Ultima after Ultima on Kefka with characters I don't care about as much. Bleh. No fun. No Terra morphing into Esper mode. No Edgar busting out wtih tools. No Locke heroically but vainly trying to do decent damage against Kefka. No Celes casting Ice 3 for the heck of it. All because they can and aren't going to get killed. Oh and Pugs suck. I played a game for three hours, finished two quests, leveled up a bunch. Ran into them for my first time in Narshe. And I get completely annihilated. Very mad. Very very very mad. |

The most annoying boss I fighted ever is the Guardian , tell you why: Try to go only with a 44 level Edgar, you`ll see he had an interesting variety of attacks: including: tentacle,(+2000 dmg), berserk, stone (Ultros mode),dadaluma mode throw me Ashura (+7000 dmg); and in Atma mode, had Flare ( kill me with one blow, + 4500 dmg) flare star and meteo. ^_^

I don't like Cyan, Banon, or Ultros.
Cyan: 'cuz when you use his sword abilities, he takes way too long Banon: Need I say so, but his healing ability is good Ultros: you fight him too many times -------------------- Yunalesca: "Hope is...comforting. It allows us to accept fate, however tragic it might be. " Yunalesca: "Poor creature. You would throw away hope. Well... I will free you before you can drown in your sorrow.
