what does vigor do? i ventured a guess that it controlled how often you started off with more of your gauge filled up, but i have no idea. it must not be too important; no esper in the game adds to it.

bismark and ifirt have plus to strength
which is vigor also hyper wrist increase vigor *which creates a pretty nice combo (illumina+offering+hyperwrist) i prefer it to the genjiglove/offering* vigor involves how much damage regular attacks can do (and in some cases skills) so if you want to bust people up with regular attacks and whatnot raise your vigor This post has been edited by Cloud_Strife510 on 3rd August 2005 03:01 -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Well, take a look. There ISN'T a statistic explicitly called "Strength". Vigor is the primary statistic that contributes to attack power, if I'm not mistaken. Master ZED or Djibriel, probably two of the best FF VI gurus in existence, could probably elaborate if they saw fit.

Well, though I am no FFVI guru, I DO have working knowledge of Ctrl+F and the Algorithms guide at GameFAQs. Quoth the Algorithms FAQ:
Quote For physical attacks made by characters : Step 1a. Vigor2 = Vigor * 2 If Vigor >= 128 then Vigor2 = 255 instead Step 1b. Attack = Battle Power + Vigor2 Step 1c. If equipped with Gauntlet, Attack = Attack + Battle Power * 3 / 4 Step 1d. Damage = Battle Power + ((Level * Level * Attack) / 256) * 3 / 2 Step 1e. If character is equipped with an Offering: Damage = Damage / 2 Step 1f. If the attack is a standard fight attack and the character is equipped with a Genji Glove, but only one or zero weapons: Damage = ceil(Damage * 3 / 4) Quote Vigor: Higher vigor increases damage done by physical attacks (see section 2.1 Damage calculation). Raising Vigor over 128 with relics and equipment does no more damage than having a Vigor of 128. Monsters do not have individual Vigor stats; instead, their vigor is randomly determined at the beginning of combat as : [56..63] I also believe that Vigor contributes to most Blitzes, SwdTechs, and maybe even some Tools (that's iffy), but Master ZED or Djibriel can verify that. -------------------- Is PJ |
