I got Odin in that ancient castle place, got him as a piece of Magicite, and got Celes to start learning the magic attack Meteor. But a fear minutes later, I found that secret entrance that leads to the petrified queen, and Odin turned into Raidin. Now all of my team mastered Raiden's ONE ability, and I really want to learn that Meteor ability. Is there another way to learn it?

Yes, the esper Crusader teaches Meteor at 10x, but you have to defeat all eight special dragons to obtain Crusader.

I always hold off getting Raiden, not because of Meteor but because of the Speed +1 level bonus.

You mean must have gotten ahold of Odin. Odin gives you +1 speed att bonus. Raiden gives +2 Str bonus.

I usually keep Odin until Locke/Shadow have like 100+ speed. Then I use Raidens +2 stre for Cyan/Edgar/Setzer/Gau

It was Merton in the SNES FF VI and Melton in the PS1 FF VI. My suspicion is that it was trying to say "Meltdown", but I could be wrong. I learned it as Merton, so I calls it Merton.

I'll never understand why anyone would use Merton instead of just whoring Ultima.

Because there are a number of equips that absorb Fire. Damage + Healing? Yes please.

Yes, the damage + healing, reduced MP cost, and its a break from staring at Ultima.

On a side note, I usually use Merton while Celes/Terra (Minerva) Sabin/Edgar (Red Jacket) or Umaro (His Relic) are in the party.
