"The painting!?"
Owzer: It's... There's a monster hiding in my prized painting of a goddess...

Cheats? Blah! You're best bet is getting what SaintWeapon suggested. Just try to get the best abilities on your weapons as you can, and you'll do just fine. (Also, remember that you can switch characters in and out, and that have overdrives before the battle starts helps alot.)

Ot is absolutely NECESSARY to have the celestial weapons for youre favourite characters. if not, forge your own. Break HP and damage limit are a must.

This is the guide I used long long ago. It's quite fun to quick hit the hell outta everything.

If you don't have the actual celestial weapons, you won't do as much damage, so you should get the celestial weapons for the characters that you can. (In my opinion, Auron, Yuna, and Rikku are the most doable.) If you have to choose between breaking the damage limit and breaking the HP limit, go for damage. Most of the things that annihilate you in one hit will still do that even with a few thousand more HP, and if you can cast auto-life for one MP, you may as well do that.

Basically, your HP and MP are not the most important factors in these fights. The ability to cast spells cheaply is better than having maxed-out MP, and having higher stats is better than having high HP. Build up your stats by fighting some of the weaker monsters that drop stat spheres.

Fighting and killing Don Tonberry is my preferred method of leveling, even without Saint Weapon's combination of abilities. Those will make it go a lot faster, though.
