Have you tried Ebay? Or even better (sometimes), Amazon.com? I'm sure Amazon has both FFIX and the PSX version of FFV (Anthology, so it'd have VI included) for a cheap price, either from the main site or the third-party sellers who normally offer for less. Course, you could always get the ROMs, but they don't stack up to the experience of playing on a console. Plus, Square will leave the severed head of a horse in your bed if you do.
Other than that, ya might wanna try your local EB Games (if you have one). The one 'round here still has SNES, Genesis, PlayStation and Nintendo 64 games for sell in addition to those of newer systems. Couldn't hurt to look, I guess. There're probably other gaming stores out there that would still have 'em for sale. There're probably other gaming stores out there that would still have 'em for sale. Yep, that's certainly where I got most of my SNES and PS games. Jest keep in mind that most of these older games are used and that, the PS games in particular, may be damaged and not necessarily in playing shape. That's why some of those copies are sold or traded to the stores in the first place. I ran into that problem with me copy of Chrono Cross (had scratches on it that caused the game to freeze at a certain point). These stores ought to give ye a limited-time warranty with those games, too, but, in my case, the warranty had already expired by the time I got to the stage where the scratches caused the problem, so blah... I didn't get any of me games online, so I can't comment on how that's handled, but I figure it might be worth a try, too...if ye don't mind waiting for the games, that is. p.s. Say, Smackthedog, can't ye jest pick an avatar and stick with it? You're making me dizzy, heh This post has been edited by Galsic on 26th August 2005 11:07 -------------------- |

Gee, if I hadn't already given my copy of FFIX away, you could have had it from me, cheap.
I'd try eBay or half.com. Video game stores won't give you the best price. Another way is to find someone who has it and doesn't like it. FFV was never released on the SNES. It was a release on the Super Famicom, the Japanese counterpart to the SNES. This post has been edited by karasuman on 27th August 2005 04:56 -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

FF V is only in Japanese on the SNES, you probably won't find a cartridge anywhere easily. The FF Anthology for PS1, with FF V and FF VI ports with extras and whatnot, can be found without too much difficulty for twenty bucks or so. I'd still recommend emulating FFV, though, just because I prefer those translations and for sound quality reasons.
FF IX shouldn't be too difficult to find, though, ebay or amazon will definitely have it if you're willing to buy online, and you still can probably find it at EB, Gamestop, GameCrazy, Babbage's, Software etc., or any number of gaming stores. The going price is probably around fifteen to twenty bucks new. -------------------- |

Do you mean a ripoff for you or the seller? That's a very good buying price, considering it's about $15 less than what you'd probably pay for it in a store.
Thing is, that and the 99¢ prices are likely just opening bids. Since Ebay's all about auctions, the price will rise a bunch as people bid on that item. If there's a 'Buy Now' option on either of those auctions - meaning you can follow that link to purchase the item at a set price just like at regular stores - you may wanna check it out. If you do that, the price you'll have to pay will be higher than the one you see on the bid screen (as of right now; the opening bid), but not as high as it could end up being if you bid on it and/or wait for the auction to end. That's one of the reasons I like Amazon more. Most of their stuff is cheap and no one jacks up the price, although they do run auctions as well. Plus, they seem to have a wider selection (and one of the greatest things is, if they don't have what you're looking for, you can email them a request to ship it in. Providing they're able to [that is, if they can find it], they'll notify you and put it up for sale). Edit Clarification.
