Ok there are two places to beef up your guys in exp and mp.
exp: there is a forest that is shaped like a dragon head. in there are some dinos that give you loads of exp. Possible spoilers: highlight to view they'll give you more with the exp. egg mp: there the tower along the serpent trench that you can only accses via airship for it is sournded by mts. that tower only allows fighting with just magic, but it gives loads of magic points. don't go there without having a few powerful spells. -------------------- Lets see, connect the blue wire to the ...wait, why is it tick*boom* |

The best place to get experience is the Dinosaur forest near the Veldt, no questions.
The best place to gain Mp is Miranda Desert. Just make sure you either have a sniper sight and offering, edgars tools, or sabins blitz. You'll need them to take down the catrots. Oh, be careful of the hoovers, best thing to do is use Vanish/doom on them before they cast sandstorm. Bulbonis is completly correct, but casting Vanish isnt nessasarry unless the caster is of a low level

Quote (Retribution @ 4th June 2005 15:46) , but casting Vanish isnt nessasarry unless the caster is of a low level Well, they said there strongest character was level 42, so they might need the vanish Quote (Quetzalma) Yeah, but isn't te forest too hard for level 35 guys?? Not neccasarily, if you've got the proper equipment and good spells. I started around lvl 37. ah, didnt catch his lvl there thx bulbonis!
well anyways you should start training on the dino forest at a level that is aprox your skill. as an example, a skilled player can manage to take them down in the mid 30's, but a lowlier player may want to take them down at low to mid 40's, its completly your call (just make sure to save every battle) -------------------- Its not denial. If you want to create a super Character, send one character into the veldt with the Dino (I did it with Sabin, equiped with Genji Glovex2 and two claws) and keep fighting them with only one character. The Rewards are completly worth it. My Sabin was incredible by the time I beat the game.

I usually send in 4 chars till one is strong enough to go on their own. Then the levels go up like there is no tomorrow. Esp with the Exp Egg.

A strategy i've always found useful for starting off in the Dinosaur Forest at a particularly low level is:
Get Sabin Bum Rush, definite definite help since that will probably be hitting for the most damage. Gogo, for dual Bum Rushes Then put whoever else you want in your party. Give someone the experience egg, of course. I like to use heavy hitters myself, since at lower levels the battles are harder to plow through fast. Then have one of your characters cast Vanish, on the entire party, almost entirely eliminating your possibility of being hit. It's effective because the Tyrannosaurs mostly use physical attacks, but if you don't get through the battle fast enough there's a chance they'll use meteor on you, which hits for a decent amount of damage. I myself could take one meteor and finish the battle, since they usually did it when they were almost dead. Just make sure you save every couple of battles, on the off chance you run into a Brachosaur. Because at a low level, your characters stand a very poor chance against this guy. Anyway, this is what I always did when I was trying to level characters in the 20's and 30's in the forest. -------------------- This one time I punched a bear in the forehead TO DEATH! Well, I think that to make all very easy, you can just use Gogo or Relm and use Control with "FakeMustache", them only use magic until you kill him, that way he won't attack you. That works with that guy in the Cactuar Desert, the one that does Sandstorm, if you Control him he won't use sandstorm as counter and you just use magic.

I may have missed something, but I'm pretty convinced that the Ancient Castle under Figaro is the best place to level up.
There are only three enemies in the actual castle... I played a fan translation, so the monster names are different, but it's Armored Weapon - big robot with a soft spot for Lightning and a massive physical defense. Likes to use Launcher, which brings you down to 1/8th hp. ~5000 xp for a single character Figaro Lizard - appears in groups of four, or in gourps of two in comobination with Lunatics. A group of four brings ~4800 xp for a single character Lunatic - A possessed wooden box. Loves to cast Freeze, which locks your player down while he lets Meteo fly. Don't try to nail him with less than 2000 HP. Usually either alone or in groups of four. A group of four brings about 6000 xp for one character. I train a single character at a time, and I use Ultima as my sharp end... kills everytthing at one go, even at level 35. Experience egg and the widget that makes spells take only 1 mp are the ideal accessories. I don't have save use even one tent to go from lvl 35 to 99. If you want to save some effort, you can use the Hero shield (GET IT. IT'S WORTH THE EFFORT) and Meltdown speel to deal 9999 damage to your enemies and 9999 heal to you. Never have to use curative spells. I have a controller button mapped to Fast Forawrd in my emulator. Using that liberally I can bring on character from 35 to 99 in about half an hour. I love to see Sabin lay out 17998 in one shot with a Genji glove. |

i think one of the best places in world of balance to prepare you for world of ruin is quite simply the floating continantas you fight behemoths that are really easy and give about 1000 exp if accoumpanied
