I was watching the movie "Carrie" (1976 film, not any of the remakes) the other night, so I was inspired to draw and color her.

Watch out, she's giving you that stare... Maybe someone should take her to the prom so she'll be happy. (I'm not trying to make fun of her by saying that, BTW)

EDIT: updated the link. See my new message closer to the bottom of the page.

John: So you don't want your screen saver to come on for another four hours?
Me: Where does it say that?
John: Here where it was 240 minutes.
Me: Is that four hours?
John: Yeah, 60 X 4.
Me: Is that four hours, though?
John: ....They'll never take you back in school.

I like the way it looks, kind of reminds me of a 70's Anime character, and yeah that is a good thing, in my book anyway.

Yeah, does seem to have the old school anime thing going there.

The black and blue together work well, but I'm not very fond of the white spots. They seem improperly formed and just kinda out of place. Perhaps if they were a lighter shade of blue instead they would work better, or maybe if they were taken out all together.

The rest of it is a good moody dark pic, just the white spots kinda throw it off.

I give it a thumbs-up, although I have no idea what it's from...

I took your advice. It did seem a little bright in the picture, didn't it? Well, I replaced the white spots with a lighter shade of blue. Hopefully that'll look better!

Ah, yes that looks much better. Fits much better with the expression she has on her face and the other colors used.

If you click the link again, I also gave her eye a light blue color. I dunno, I guess the last bit of white seemed out of place, too.

Also, if you guys are interested, here's a picture of Regan from "The Exorcist":

http://usera.imagecave.com/Neon_Heart/Regan.jpg

No, the above pic isn't graphic in any way, unless you're scared of a whole bunch of red. Unfortunately, Image Cave made the pic look a little messy. It wasn't intended to look messy, anyway. It probably doesn't look as good, because it's more complex to color in, unlike the picture of Carrie. I added in a few scratches to Regan's body (notice the cut on her face and the torn clothing and bloody cut by her, um... breast there blush.gif ). Plus I made her mouth look kinda... I dunno, like an upside trapezoid, or something. Anyway, enjoy! thumbup.gif

The monochrome thing works for the two pics, reminds me of the animated sequence of the first half of Kill Bill, which is in turn probably inspired by 70s anime (which I know next to nothing about), considering that 60s Kung Fu flicks were the movie's chief inspiration. I've seen both movies, and I have to say that the Carrie pick is better. Her expression is very fitting (and creepy to boot) while Regan doesn't seeem as fluidly and almost bored instead of possessed. I really like that carrie pic, though, almost poster-worthy.
