Usually, I use my imagination when it comes to Celes' outfit.

In the WoB, she would wear her green swimsuit looking thing with the cape.  But the WoR comes in, nad her outfit it badly ripped and messed up.  So she has to get a new outfit, hence the yellow jumpsuit thing.

oh, i had something like that, too, but the opposite of what you said

I'm still wondering why she's only allowed to have two outfits, heh. I say mix it up! Pretend she's real, give her a bunch of outfits. XD

Well, see on the SNES I was pretty sure that Locke and Terra had different outifits, but seeing that I no longer own one. I can't be too sure, and I can't find any internet proof! Like Terra did she not have an green belly dancer outfit, (same color as her hair) Similar to the girl from Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. Also Locke, he actually looked like his small photo. With the bandana and the crazy plaid pants. AM I just imagining this! Has someone actually played both versions or the SNES version when it came out in 1994? If so can you tell me?

Yes, and the sprites are the same, sorry.

Also, I did a search, and found an image that might also be what TGT means:This image may actually be Celes, for all we know, but when I found it a second ago, it claimed it was Dagger. It rather closely resembles the 'jumpsuit' thingy Celes has in the PS1 fmvs, and also resembles a  piece of official art from FF6 a little bit...

That is indeed Dagger, since that picture is on Disc 1 of the PAL version of FF9. No idea why she has a sword though... huh.gif

you know how super heros have only one set of clothes but a ton of them. its like that i guess. that also explains why they don't all smell like crap. but alternating clothes would be interesting.

They're called costumes, or suits, but then again, maybe locke doesn't change his clothes because he doen't have any. biggrin.gif

That's why I find it weird. They aren't superheroes, they're just regular people, so why would they wear costumes? blink.gif With all the adult, realistic themes of the game, throwing in a one costume rule suddenly seems very cartoonish and jarring.

But maybe that's just me. I know I'm beating this "diverse wardrobe" bit into the ground, so I'll stop. No one's listening anyway. XD

And actually, if you look at the Amano outfits, Locke has the most variation in his pictures. Maybe they don't have any other clothes to wear because he stole them all. >_>

Have you ever seen .Hack?
no that's a bad example,

what about Inuyasha?
they have the same clothes all the time, and they're about in the same time zone.

Well....Inuyasha is a cartoon, therefore the one costume rule applies. smile.gif If FFVI was an anime, then yeah, I'd expect one outfit for everyone. If they had new ones for every scene, that'd actually surprise me. smile.gif

But you said you were writing a fanfic, right? If you want it to be believable, you should factor in weather, bathing, dirty clothes, etc. That's why I'm being so adamant about it. What you decide to do is ultimately your decision in the end, but if I read a fic where Celes wears the same exact clothes the entire game, I'm probably going to roll my eyes and hit the back button. I like realism in my writing. The only exception for me would be her imperial uniform; yes, she would probably wear it a good deal of the time, and yes, she probably has more than one. But regular clothes? Not so much.

But anyway, if it's a fanfic, clothing shouldn't be too big of a deal. A bit of description is fine, but you probably don't need to go into a long paragraph telling us what color the lacing on her belt is. So don't worry yourself too much about it and just go with what you feel is best.

Damn, I rambled on. And here I said I was going to drop it. Sorry. ^^ Anyway, good luck with the fic! Let us know when you finish so we can read, ok? biggrin.gif

Personally, I can't stand it when the writer goes on and on about what everyone's wearing that day when it has no importance. Most of the time you don't even have to mention clothes at all, especially with a fanfic where most of your readers already have a mental picture of the characters anyway. It's not like, by not mentioning it, we'll be imagining all of them naked.

(Well, I will, of course, but... shifty.gif )

You're not the only one! blush.gif

Anyway it's sorta important, I think, but not very. What does it matter what the characters wear? It's more important that you know who they are. Celes is Celes, she's not the outfit she wears. tongue.gif

In any case, I never paid it much thought. Regardless of what she wears, she's got armor on top of it, right? And it's obviously not going to instantly form-fit her and disappear into her clothing or something.

Or maybe...

man, knowing that everyone want's to read it makes me nervous, i've never done one before, i tried to post the story on fanfiction.net, but i noticed how many screw-ups i had, and i noticed that someone else did a fanfic about it and that made me feel like a copycat! wacko.gif
even if the fic was nothing like mine, i put celes through more pain, i think.

anyways, i'm working on it! thumbup.gif

Hmm, If I was Geshtal, I would not accept her skank-top as a military uniform. I would also not accept Kefka's clothing since its rather clownish for a general (I'd call him a psychopathic metrosexual), I'd probably have them both fired and replaced by more "Military Like" Characters like General Leo. laugh.gif

If only it was more realistic to what a military really is.

Really? I have the PS1 version of FF6, and she wears that green leotard...I've seen a sprite somewhere (on a French FF6 fansite I believe) of Celes in a yellow outfit, but it's not in the game, as far as I know... huh.gif

It's in the FMV movies at the beginning and end. Not a sprite, a CGI render-thingy.

I see, that makes sense. Didn't realise he was referring to the FMVs. The small Celes sprite at the top of this page threw me off a little. Nice sprite though.
