So I was sketching and I drew these two FF6 monsters as part of a stupid little comic I'm screwing with. I tried a different method of coloring them, as I often do, and this is what I produced.

Apparite
Bomb

I was wondering whether or not they were good enough to submit. After some thought I just decided to go ahead and do it.

What I tried different this time, is I left the pen and pencil strokes in the drawing, then gave it an atmosphere color. After that I used some tools to brighten and darken certain areas. It makes the drawings look a little gritty and rough, so I'm still deciding whether I like doing drawings this way.

(Strange, the links work for me just fine. I'll see what I can do.)

Well, lets try imageshack then...

(All 4 links work for me. Tell me if there are any problems viewing them.)

A little off-topic but...

http://www.imageshack.org/

You REALLY should migrate your pictures there. Your bandwidth (as of posting this) is exceeded, and your pictures are unavailable. Plus, ImageShack not only allows direct linking, it even gives you the code to past in a post to have a nice little thumbnail pointing to the image in question. wink.gif

I'd comment, but like I said, your pictures are unavailable at the moment. I'll edit my post sometime late tonight, when less people will be viewing them. Good luck with them, though. smile.gif

Oh, the Apparite is gnawsome. Absolutely gnawsome. I mean, the bomb's great too, but not, you know, gnawsome.

I'm a big fan of gritty styles, so as such I love them both. smile.gif

Once again, the professional use of colors catches my attention the most. Nice!

What I like best about the Apparite picture is the fact that all you have to do is invert the colours on it and you get an entirely different monster!

My absolute favorite kind of fanart is the one down about the enemies, preferebly the obscure non-humanoid random encounters. There's not enough of it, and not all of it that's there is any good; I really liked both of these.

I hope the subject continues to interest and challenge you smile.gif

Ha! Yeah, I guess I could make a PM Stalker pretty easily. Or a Balloon. But I think I'll stay away from the pallete swap monsters, heh.
