This is more curiosity on my part than anything els, but i am curious that since gogo can learn any ablity is there a chance that getting him before locke would allow you to access those doors? You'd probly have to have the steal command to do it but does anyone know if its possible to do it or has done it befor? Thanks to any of those who can answer my question.

It's been a while since I've played the game, but I'm going to say no. Locke's picking ability isn't actually a skill you can get or utilize, it's just something he does. If I'm not mistaken, Narshe is the only time he actually uses it, isn't it?
Gogo's mimic ability is only used in battle anyway, ignoring his monkey-do bit in the ending sequence. Plus, even if you could use it outside battle, and you could mimic lockpicking, someone would have to be there for him to imitate, because that's how Gogo works. That is the only time he uses the ablity. Your forgetting though that you can equip gogo with the ablity to use other charecters moves even with out them being there. But like i said this was just a curiousity thing on my part and was just curious if anyone had ever tryed doing it.

Gogo is awesome. Period. You can slap and name on him/her since the gender is not determined. Gogo has a cooler animation and Sabin while using Aurabolt. You HAVE to bother with Gogo.

At any rate, a clear advantage to using Gogo is that, as soon as you get the airship you can fly to triangle island, get him, and use him to unlock the doors in Narshe. At least, it WOULD be an advantage if it actually worked. It most likely doesn't. But that would be a nice advantage.

Like SilverLance said, Gogo doesn't unlock Narshe doors. What's worse, it would have been awesome if you could get Gogo from the get-go, so you can simply decide your next side-quest for the items, not the characters and skills you get from it. Sadly, the Zone Eater dungeon is, IMO the second-hardest in the game (monsters are high-leveled, and you can't run from Covert monsters who constantly rip you new holes in your body with Skeans), so it's still more logical to obtain him as (one of) your last character(s).

It would be sweet if Gogo could join your team as early as the WoB. A low-level single-character Gogo game sounds like it would be awesome and really fun.
![]() In any event, things like Locke picking locks occure through scenario events. Even if you gave Terra "Steal" through a game genie code she wouldn't be able to open the doors because these kinds of events check if the character is in the party, not the ability. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

You actually could get gogo right off the bat, just get mog and the moogle charm and then you could have gogo on your team right off the bat (though i know alot of you wouldnt use the moogle charm.) In any case it would make you able to obtain him quicker.

Oh, that makes sense. When you get Figaro, instead of going back in the castle and going to Kohlingen, you go with Celes, Edgar and Sabin to Narshe. Now you might have trouble with the enemies there, but, theoretically, you can fight your way to Mog...
I wonder, though, does he go with you if you don't have the airship? I don't think he would just join your party. Though if you wait until you get Setzer, then go back, that's not much longer. After getting Mog, you check the spot where he was standing, get the Moogle charm, and fly to Triangle Island. After you've been attacked by Zoneeater and eaten, put the moogle charm on Mog, and you won't get attacked in the cave. Since you don't have to fight anything in there to get Gogo, you're able to get him easily. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Just checked, you can't. But, you can still get Gogo with 5 characters, and you probably should have 8 to get Locke.
But there's no point, since Gogo can't do Locke's thing. :-) -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

...You can get Gogo with only three. (or four if you wanna use the Moogle Charm.) Just don't get Sabin. But if you do decide to make Gogo your first recruit, you'd better give CES some killer equipment.

I don't know why you would rush off to get Gogo early. He can only use the abilities of people who have already joined so...

Gogo just won't be able to learn anything new without the retrieval of said party member, if there's anything new to learn anyway. The people who have already joined rule would only apply to a WOB Gogo. -------------------- |
