Hahaha I was disgussing this with a friend. Which is your cheapest spell combo in FFVI? Mine was Vanish and X-Zone but I stopped using it because it was just too darn cheap and it ruined the game. But anyway, whats your cheapest combos?

I loved a gem box equipped character, who also wears an economizer, and then casts quick - ultima.
If I remember correctly they will cast ultima like 4 times. Then have Gogo mimic that;) -------------------- An Eternity To Man Is But A Moment To God |

Magic boosted Celes w/ GB + Econ - Flare, Quick, Flare, Flare, Flare, Flare. Death to any non-life-looping boss in two standard turns. One if Gogo gets involved.

Replace "Magic Boosted Celes" with "Morphed Terra" and you don't even need to use Flare or Ultima to max out.

This one works in some situations, and is fun to cast. Been a very long time since I used it though.
Bezerk -> Vanish on party. I don't remember it working often, or on anything important besides the Fanatics Tower, but its nice to save some HP when it does work. -------------------- "The only difference between a crazy man and a hero is that the hero succeeds in what he sets out to do." Wall rings, and Cherub rings (the ones that casted Regen), and then using all the offensive magic on my party, pushing the L1 button so it did it four times on the enemy.

I'm not a magic user, but doing four ultimas at once?...no enemy in the game could survive that!, (except that one..I know..); a good idea could be go with Merton and some Fire shields, Red Jacket, Paladin Shield...etc. You deal good damage, It's very quick, and you're healed in the process...

Vanish+X-zone, you have to remember that there's a bug in the game that permits you to kill enemies that way even if they are immune to the death effect.
The cheapest spell combos do require some set-up. However, the enemies in FF6 were too weak and the spells/skills were too powerful. I'd take a fight that pushes the very edge of skill and competence in a game rather than an end boss that can be killed in a single command. Or the ability to have a spell like Ultima that does massive non-elemental damage to every enemy. And then coupling the ability to cast it 4 times for a grand total of 4 MP. It got worse in FF7 with Knights of the Round. Especially if you have two of them linked with HP and MP absorb. Add W-Summon, Final Attack+Phoenix or whatever else. If you though the relic system of FF6 was able to give you cheap combos...whatever, you can set up the characters in FF7 to just automate themselves. Or just give Vincent the Level 2 Slash-all materia with one of his 255% hit weapons and go to town. Easy levelling. -------------------- Now the story's played out like this. Just like a paperback novel. Let's rewrite an ending that fits. |

Looks like Osmose got left over in the dust with all of the other amazing combos in the game. Overall though, MP regeneration is my ticket to an easy meal. Nothing says bye bye bad guys more then spamming Ultima down their throats while using Cure 3 to heal yourself for all eternity. Can't legitimately get much cheaper then that, unless you actually take the time to think about it a small bit and that act in itself, kinda detracts from the cheap thoughtlessness of it all.
Osmose, never leave home without it. -------------------- |

My cheapest spell combos
Vanish/Doom-Vanish/X-Zone-I used this to defeat Atma Weapon, which would be impossible if I didn't use it. Also used to fight Hoovers. This next one isn't really a combo, but I took the time to teach all of the characters Ultima or Meteor and I would just pound on bosses with that. -------------------- Ultimately a man must travel his chosen path alone. |

Equip Flame Shields (or the Paladin Shield) on all characters, then with the Gem Box cast Merton, Quick, Merton, Merton, Merton, Merton.
Hurts your enemies more effectively than Ultima AND heals your allies more effectively than Cure 3 in the same turn! -------------------- I know I've been Final Fantasy XII too long - just the other day I referred to a region with no cell service as a Jagd! |

Not really spells but...
Palidor + Dragon Horn x 4 It would be worse with Mog and the Genji Glove and the Double Lances from FF V, but since those don't exist here, we'll just stick with Mog, Edgar, and two hard hitting characters. -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |

Gotta be honest. For the most part, I'm not a big magic user anymore. By the time I get to Kefka.. There's no point. lol

I used vanish + doom as soon as I learned about it from the NINTENDO HELP LINE back in, Jesus. 1994? I plead youth and ignorance. I stopped using it for every boss battle once I hit fifteen, but every once and a while, when there's a Master Pug or some other enemy that's gotten just a little too big for its britches... it's vandooming time.

That's a fun word, vandooming!

I'd have to say one of my favorite combos is having one person use Palidor, then the other three get ready with spells. Relm and Meteor, Gogo and Mimic, Strago and Grandtrain, anyone and Flare, whatever.
