This is pretty simple all i wanna know is why you think Final Fantasy 6 was a great game.
FFVI is one of the best outta the series because of its characters (they were all pretty cool) the story, battle system and music. All together it made a very solid RPG. -------------------- "To be forgotten is worst than death." Freya , FF9 "How do you prove that you exist...? Maybe we dont exist." Vivi, FF9 |

Because Sabin's in it, that's why.
But seriously, it's probably because of the deep storylines and such. Plus the graphics are nifty (I ![]() ![]() -------------------- John: So you don't want your screen saver to come on for another four hours? Me: Where does it say that? The biggest reason that I enjoyed this game so much was that it was such an improvement over ffiv (I did not realize at the time that there was a ffv). The graphics, gameplay mechanics and sound were superior, and we of course got to enjoy a storyline that was just so breathtaking and original.
While you'd expect the next games in a series to be improvements of their predecessors, they did a good job of combining things that worked well in previous games with new ideas, and that's probably not as easy as it sounds. I'm also impressed with the level of detail that was put into this game; indeed, only the best of the current generation of games can give us today what ffvi/III gave us back in 1994. -------------------- Cannis Rules: Balance of Power - My favourite Yuri's Revenge Mod |

I first adored it because of all the lovable characters. Their interactions have a good balance between being comical and serious.
Later when playing it again, I actually understood the story more and was intregued by all these themes... relationships, politics, war, and hope. I didn't really pay attention to all that when I played it the first time as a much younger child. And honestly, I don't think I'd love it AS much as I do if it had become as popular as FF7 and the ones following it. I often feel extremely turned off when something I like becomes super popular.. I guess I like feeling that something is more special to me than to many others. In general though, it's not easy to say why i think it's an amazing game ![]() This post has been edited by Nekki on 1st July 2005 09:32 |

Why I think FFVI is a great game?...well, without spoilers it's hard to say...
Graphics, They are similar to my second love: Chrono Trigger, and they're well designed, after all. I like also the character's design, which they're not good.....They're awesome!. ( Even Umaro). Monsters' are not too good for me. Music It's very accurated to the situation, and is master-piece of FFVI. Cyan's theme , for example, just by hearing it's transmites some kind of sadness, and then sound like a brave soldier who overcomes his past an go on.. or Celes' theme, it just sound like...isolation, a melancholy that you can feel when you think about the meaning of life. Nobou Uematsu is a genius. ![]() Storyline I can't say much, but is precious, the contrast of characters personalities, achieving a same goal...in a different "enviroment" from which they started.., the relationships between them is also rich, (and not very well explicited by the way..but they are there.) psychological speaking...each one is different from other.. Who knows...the storyline, begins with a mysterious girl, which a powerful gift and name. I don't to spoil anything so I will not continue. A true masterpiece. -------------------- "Its no cheating if you don't get caught" |

The story was brillant because it showed a good amount of depth, as well as all those 'side-stories' that really brought it all together.
Nobou Euematsu (excuse the spelling) put some of his best score into FFVI. Back then it was most likely the game with the best music ever placed in a Snes title! (With the exception of Chrono Trigger, since he made a score for that too) The quality of the game was also impressive, along with all those other small details that just makes Final Fantasy a great companion to all the other Final Fantasies out there... -------------------- Its not denial. Chrono Trigger only had 2 or 3 tracks done by Uematsu, the majority of it it was composed by Mitsuda.
Uematsu = marketing device. -------------------- Now the story's played out like this. Just like a paperback novel. Let's rewrite an ending that fits. |

I love FFVI mostly because of Locke..
Why do I like him? Because: 1) He looked very cool (With the exception to the YoShitAka Amano's version of Locke) 2) Thieves are always fun to have. I once was a person who built my party on other ffs only with overpowered characters.. But Locke changed me.. Stealing is very fun. And I highly disagree with him being a "weakling" unless you're trying out the Initial Equipments challenge. 3) Three hot ladies love him. Beginning with Rachel, and ending with Terra and Celes (You lucky pimp ![]() 4)Theme song ![]() On the other side of FFVI, it's pretty sweet. The graphics were a huge improvement over FFV and looked more realistic than the two previous FFs... The music is not better than FFV's, but it owns FFIV's... The story was uncomplicated.. It's a damn shame they took off the crystals.. So that makes FFV's plot imo the best one so far.. Empires are ok.. Difficulty!? LOL That's the worst part of the game.. The game is unchallengingly easy.. But an initial equip or a low-level game would be the opposite.. Game length could've been increased to be more or equal to FFIV's or FFV's.. WOR sucks.. The game didn't have many touching moments. The best one in this game was Locke's past with Rachel.. FFVI is more like a second favorite, behind FFV.. |

The ROM hacking community for FF6 is quite a cool bunch. They're fun people.
This, for me, is what sets it apart from the rest. I don't really play RPGs all that often anymore, but tinkering with them and programming my own things is what gets me going. And every layer peeled away by the community makes FF6 ROM hacking feel like having solved part of some big-ass quest. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Quote (NeoEx-Death @ 2nd July 2005 19:03) 3) Three hot ladies love him. Beginning with Rachel, and ending with Terra and Celes (You lucky pimp ![]() Where do you get that Terra fell in love with Locke? Celes, sure, but there's absolutely no indication Terra liked him as anything more than a friend. (Not meaning to start a debate or anything...) As for me, FFVI was the first and only RPG to really blow me away like it did. It has a great story, awesome characters, one of the best soundtracks you'll ever hear...and now I'm just being unoriginal and saying the same darn thing most everyone else said. It's also really cool that even after ten years there's things - mainly little things - still unknown or undiscovered to a lotta people, be it optional scenes, dummied-out data, important info lost in translation, etc. And like Silverlance said; it's at the center of one of the most active and long-lasting game hacking communities out there, and for good reason. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. Duh, most of what I wanted to say has already been said a couple of times... I really like the game's music and graphics, but what makes it so great for me are the characters. There are just so many touching moments for almost everyone of them. Scenes one remembers even after years and years, when other games are already forgotten.
There are great dynamics in the story as long as it takes place in the World of Balance, and as soon as you get to the World of Ruin, there are so many character moments. Love that. |

May a reason wjy i LOVE FF6. 1) music 2) the story line kicks @$$, you think you know who the bad guy is, until the other one kills him
Possible spoilers: highlight to view 3) Each charatcer has his or her own speaical type of weapon, if you don't count the dirks and knives and swords that Edgar and Terra and celes and Stezer can equip. And 4) It has no certian magic users. EVERYONE can use magic. Tres AWESOME Kefka killing Gesthal -------------------- Lets see, connect the blue wire to the ...wait, why is it tick*boom* |

I liked it mostly not because of one specific thing, everything in the game is top-notch, but it's not a "EVERYTHING is awesome!" kinda thing either. Sure, everything is awesome, but I've played other games where every aspect is just as good. It's the way everything in the game works TOGETHER to create the whole product that makes FFVI what it is. It doesn't just have good music, it has music that reflects the time period that the game takes place it. It has characters that fit into the plot realistically, and gameplay that is also tied in with the plot (the espers). There are so many games that are merely the sum of their parts, but FFVI is WAY more.

My reason Hmm... well a few reasons. The sweet characters with unique skills and personalitys. The unmached storyline. The music "soo didn't need to point that out". And it seems more like history rather than a game how the story starts and ends "to me anyway" . I feel like playing it right now.

Music Scores, graphics, gameplay, and storyline where all what made FFVI so popular to me. THe music was so awsome and each song in the game flow with story, giving you like a movie like fell to the game. The game to me was like a movie and a novel combine.
The graphics and art sytle was so amazing even for a 16-Bit video game. The artwork of the game went into so much detail from the chacrter design to the world to the monsters. With a strong gameplay and storyline, Final Fantasy VI is one of the most greatest games to come around for the SNES and even today, it is very enjoyable. -------------------- Life....Hopes...Dreams. Here's what I think made Final Fantasy VI so great:
Graphics While it's nowhere near todays "standards" in terms of flashy, time consuming effects and super-detailed real-time 3-D graphics, it is one of the best looking SNES games I've seen.(besides Chrono Trigger) Characters This game had some of the most memorable characters in a FF, IMO. While there were a couple of characters that didn't have much story, most of them were fleshed out decently and had great personalities. Music The music in this game is outstanding. Uematsu simply outdid himself with this soundtrack. FFVI has the best music in a video game IMO, let alone a FF. Storyline The storyline in FFVI was another one of my favorites. While not as complex as some of the later FF's, it didn't have confusing plot twists and character relationships, like FFVII's storyline which I disliked to a point. Honorable mentions go to the gameplay. While I enjoyed the gameplay, it just wasn't as deep as some other FF's, such FFT's job system.
