Did anyone else ever wonder why
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Because the first time I played through the game, I was almost expecting to see him again, especially because heYou don't fight Algus in Murond Death city? Possible spoilers: highlight to view and seems like just the right amount of evil for the job(ok, so he isn't exactly evil, let's just say he's power hungry). Was anyone else as suprised by this as me?dies so early in the game Reply: It may be possible that he made it into heaven, considering that they never show him actually killing someone. And to be honest, I didn't even remember who the poison guy was the first time. Wow, you guys must really hate Algus. This post has been edited by ArcnightDelita on 28th May 2005 21:28 |

He did kill someone: Delita's sister at the mill with the bowgun, and shot the Death Corps guy too (who probably died.) Plus, he was eeeevil, so I doubt he made it to "heaven" in the game.
Anyway, it would have made sense to have fought him again I guess, and probably would have been a more interesting battle story-wise than fighting Balk again. Plus, I always love killing his little Osh-Kosh-B'Gosh arse, so one more time woulda been great. |

You're right about him killing Teta. I completely forgot. It's been a while since I've been at the beggining of the game (fond memories). However, that only furthers my argument that Algus should have been at the end of the game. It would have been pretty interesting to hear what he had to say, and it might have set a different mood. It leads me to believe that the game developers might have forgotten about him. (But technically, din't the explosion kill Teta?) But he meant to killl her and that's probably all that counts.
Oh, and I think Ramza made him spare the Death Corps guy. This post has been edited by ArcnightDelita on 28th May 2005 23:05 |

Personally, I didn't expect Algus at Murond Death City ( but if he were there it would be OK anyway..poor boy, he was young)...later in the game I completely forgot about him, and I played FFT too many times. Maybe he should appeared, instead of Balk (the poison guy)..who didn't do anything at all. Maybe some defeated Lucavi's demons should be appeared as an interest challenge, like a battle with Queklaim, Velius, Zalera, Adramelk and Hashmalum and Elidibs at the same time.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view I didn't expect to see Algus ever again, what with me leaving his corpse to roast in the burning Fort Zeakden. It would have been a nice surprise moment to have him come back and fight you (maybe as an undead?), but he had no affiliation with the Zodiac Stones or the Braves, so it wouldn't have been very plausible. 'Sides, I like him much more when he's bringing up tulips. ![]() This post has been edited by Shotgunnova on 29th May 2005 00:09 -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

When I had gotten to Murond on my first playthrough, I had completely forgotten that Algus was a character. Now, after numerous playthroughs, I'd rather fight Algus than Balk, with the exception of one more Spell Gun to steal.

It's wierd that I forgot alot of things my first time through, but that little brat Algus stuck in my head for some reason.Llike most of you, I didn't really worry about it the first time, but by about my third time I thought it would add some richness to the already incredibly rich storyline, and thought it made a little more sense than Balk.

Nah, I didn't expect it. I didn't even think about it. I just assumed that he was deader than dirt, just like Weigraf's sister (name?) and Teta.

Square just realized that Algus actually sucked that much. That's why you never face him again.

Algus (early in the game) seems like a major character. He was an angry hitler type and seemed to be behind alot. And then he get's
Possible spoilers: highlight to view and is never heard from again. In Muround he should have come back and "raised hell". But I must admit the first time I played the game I completly forgot about him aswell. Killed -------------------- - The problem isn't relgion, the problem is religious tolerance - |

I hated algus he was annoying. (Espically with the marquis thing at the beginning) Im glad he died at fort zekeden and that you got to kill him. If he would have came back at mulond i woulda hoped you could kill him again i plain hated algus.

yeah, i've never really thought about that - i've thought that balk was an odd choice, but I never paid it too much mind. anyways:
it would have been pheezable (sp?) for algus to appear in balk's place, as a shrine knight member. think about this: the zodiac braves (if you call them that) weren't active until the 2nd chapter, and even then, new braves were chosen throughout the game, elmdor wasn't a member the entire time, neither was dycedarg. (and even though a video never shows anything about elmdor, check the brave stroy in ch.2-3 it should say something about him being struck by a stray arrow at fuse plains, but yet he still has an age by his name) so it is possible that the stones would have chosen algus, they just weren't active, and algus wasn't in possession of one yet. taht would jsut have been an idea of how to have him be there. -------------------- |

You guys talking about Algus dying at Fort Zeakden reminded me of something.
Right after Algus dies, the place is about to explode and since Algus shot Teta and fatally wounded her, it brang Delita to her aid. Delita was sitting right smack in the area of the explosion, holding teta, thinking she wasn't dead but Ramza kept telling him to leave her but Delita didn't. If Ramza truly was Delita's best friend, he would've tackled Delita out of the way of the explosion, along with Teta. That way, not only would Ramza survive, but also Delita and Teta. If that actually happened, Ramza would redeem himself and convince Delita that Algus was lying to him that Ramza was using him to achieve his goals. Delita wouldn't hate Ramza then and therefore wouldn't have left Ramza's group. I'm just saying, if it did happen, it would prove the moral, "Friends will always have each other's back." However, Ramza did the opposite. Read the second quote on my signature. It's just something I like to point out, you don't have to agree with me. -------------------- "You say life is sacred, makes you feel noble. Well, then let me ask you this. Teta was already dead btw. And Delita never hated Ramza.

This discusssion made me remember another Ft. Zeakden related question. Does anyone know what Delita meant at Zerilike falls when he said, "Teta saved me back then"? Just thought I would throw it out there.

When Delita said "Teta saved me back then." it means that she shielded Delita from the explosion so he wouldn't die.

actually no that's not what he meant- he was crediting his dead sister for something she did that wasn't material or tangible.
