Okay, I rigged that girl character for animation as best I could. I'm not too keen on riggin computer characters. It's an extremely technical process that delves heavily into the inner workings of Maya. A lot can go wrong. Fact is, I'm not done with it since there's a few things need tweaking. But, I have gone far enough that I can start having a little fun with her. I grabbed a clip from an earlier ten second club contest which I felt was closest to Wendy's (the character I made) personality.
This is the farthest I've gotten so far. Though it's not obvious in the early rendition, this character has the first facial rig I've ever tried. Hopefully it will help when I have to start on the lip sych. The rig was a design based off of a book I got called Stop Staring. If anyone's interested in computer animation, you have to get this book. It's that simple. I've shown it here before, but the compression I used on it was so bad that I was never able to play it properly from any computer I tried from. That's since been fixed. That's pretty sweet! Y'know what I was thinking yesterday, though? To heck with the flippin movie, just make a book! I mean, go ahead and do the movie if ya want, but It'd probably be a bestseller!

Those are pretty awesome, the fine details of 3D animation always went right over my head. And the talking box is nifty. Impressive stuff.

That's very impressive. Considerably so. Your skills at modeling characters and animating them is one I must bow down to.
You seem to animate things a little too fast, though. Movement seems sped up by, say... 1.5x-2x what it should be. But this is hardly an issue, and the actual results are amazing nevertheless. Good point. I noticed that too. At first I thought it was because it was at the wrong framerate, but if that were true, the audio would sound funny. I'm gonna try and get the timing of that better. She needs to hold her poses longer.
The animation so far has taken me a couple weeks, but it's one of those things I hafta find spare time to work on, so I'm not really sure how long I've been working on it actually. Maybe three days worth? Not a lot, or not as much as I would like. -------------------- |

My experience with 3D animation goes as far as three hours' time spent trying to make Half Life models in Milkshape 3D -- needless to say, I failed (miserably) -- so I congratulate you on having the patience and skill to stick it out. =D
Anyway, that's pretty cool stuff, I of course will pick up this movie/show/whatever when it comes out. -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... Okay, I did an update of what I got so far. Most of what I've been doing so far is tweaking of the pose positions for each joint so their easier to deal with. What that means is that the points in that three demensional space end up being keyed with information like 3.453464, 2.345346, 1.78656. I change them to 3.5, 2.25, 1.75. So the majority of what I've been doing really isn't noticable. I did some quick and simple poses started that I'm going to have to tweak and move around. I notice the timing is still way off and I'll hafta work on that.
