We all know 'em. Now, imagine those FFVI characters we all know and love were in our world, what do you think they'd have?
I think Shadow would be a gothic person. I mean, come on. He does wear all black, says to have killed his emotions, has the "My dog will eat you, leave me alone" concept down, and I'm sure he hides his poetry journal filled with poems titled "The End of the World" and "Apocalyptic Hatred Concealed" or something, hehe. Terra? If we go by her looks, she could easily pass for some sort of punk. She wears armwarmers, fishnets, boots, a weird belt, has greenish hair, and rebels against the Empire, like real punks rebel against the government (or wear wristbands like they do). Of course, her personality would probably make her the overachieving, saintly goody two shoes girl. I think Celes would honestly be a Southern cowgirl. She wears a vest, boots, and a big belt buckle, not to mention the style her arm warmers are made in the style of cowgirlishness. ^.^ Plus, she has that Southern Belle attitude- "I'm no love-starved twit!" Then turns around and goes for the treasure hunter! All that's missing is a cowgirl hat and the accent! What do y'all think? I can't think of any others right now, but I like spectacles on what they'd be like. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

Locke would be the Gung-Ho adventurer type.
Kefka. I don't know about him. He has a very psychotic attitude and is completely out of touch with reality. He will probably be committed to a mental institution within the first 30 seconds of setting foot in our world. -------------------- Ultimately a man must travel his chosen path alone. |

Quote Locke would be the Gung-Ho adventurer type. So he'd pretty much be exactly who he is in the game? ![]() I'm actually a little confused about how this works, Relm. It seems like you're basing the sterotypes off of what they look like and that's it. Perhaps it's just me, but I think real life setting or not, they'd still more or less adhere to their existing personalities. IE, Celes would be a military brat and so on down the line. Perhaps a better way to do this would to convert everything to modern day? For example, Edgar is the mayor of a city who spends his free time building cars, and Locke is an archaeology TA, recovering from depression when his fiance was killed in a rock climbing accident. I don't know, maybe I'm just missing something? -------------------- Wilson: "That smugness of yours really is an attractive quality." House: "Thank you. haha, i love your observations Relm. Like terra being a punk, omg i can sooo see it. Not by her personality, but looks-wise, yeah...
![]() I can see Setzer as being Goth... i mean, big black cloak, come on. Sabin would totally be a jock. Edgar would TOOTALLY be like class president or something, cause he's a King and all. And he would have all these hot girl secretary people following him around. I'm hoping Strago won't be seen in a retirement home. He's only in his 70's still right? ...i'm now slightly inspired to draw like a high school FF6 comic or something. oh god. |

Quote That IS what commonly makes a stereotype, yunno. I'm...apparently very slow. Quote ...i'm now slightly inspired to draw like a high school FF6 comic or something. oh god. I'm actually in the process of converting the FFVI story into a high school setting. It's ridiculous in a way, but actually challenging and quite fun. I guess that's one of the reasons why I got confused about the topic. I actually had that in mind when I read the posts, so was factoring personality into it, as opposed to just appearance. So my Terra isn't a punk, she's more....well, does anyone watch BtVS? You know Willow's girlfriend, Tara? She's like that. Very quiet and shy, with the whole wicca / tarot card thing going on. Sorry about the confusion, though it will be interesting to see how everyone else envisions the characters, even if it's only by their looks. -------------------- Wilson: "That smugness of yours really is an attractive quality." I'm leaning toward that Gau is that kid who's always in school and is always disruptive and partly mad.

Ohh, and if Mog were human, he'd be the really short guy who tries to be cool. XD He "slam-dances," but stumbles, he's cute yet still attacks, and he -can- be powerful but usually is just seen as cute and harmless!
Oh, and most of these are based on appearence, Radia, but a few go by personality. ^.^ -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

Kefka is Hitler, no questions asked. Kefka wanted power, just like Hitler, and eventually both of them got the power the desired. If anyone rebeled then they would always take them out before they would cause any damage.

That's the best quote ever: WHAM, emo!
Anywho, I agree with RelmArrowney that Celes would DEFINATELY be the cowgirl-type character. Sabin: Jock. Edgar: Ladies' Man. Strago: Old grouch ("You dern kids get off my lawn!" And then he casts GrandTrain on them lol). Umaro: Stupid, but HUGE! Locke: Cool, no other way to describe him. Here's how I'd describe Terra: Deep. Not neccessarily a SERIOUS person, but not a joker, either. Just a deep, emotional person that enjoys both laughing and crying. I've gained a stronger sense than ever that Doma and it's people represent the 'oriental' element in the FFVI world, thanks to that little book that I'm always talking about. (You know... the one I'm talking about in almost every thread I've started.) That, and in the original Japanese, Cayenne totally speaks the samurai speak de gozaru. これからの説明は拙者におまかせあれ! Hopefully Retribution meant that his vision of Cyan was transported to feudal Japan under circumstances beyond his control in a very anime-esque fashion de gozaru. Well, an anmie -style way of Cyan getting to oldie Japan wouldnt be so bad. Let me develop that a little more...
During is stay at Japan, he would eventually learn the secrets of the ninja ways from an aging and dedicated Nunjustu GrandMaster. From there on he tapped into his forgotten life of an american in a dream, and thus SwrdTech was born, and it didnt suck at all! Distort would be a lightning-fast slash, that can cleave many foes asunder. Retort would place Cyan in a defensive postion, where at the moment of the foe striking, he would lash out all of his will and fortitiude in a decapatating blow. Slash would be a tactical swing of his Katana, attempting to target the weak points of a foe, thus dealing substantual damage. For Quadra Slam, Cyan would meditate for a slight moment, utilizing all of his prior skills then explode in a raging fury slicing and dicing at where ever he would think a foolish indiviudal would be standing... He usally would find death around him when using this manuver. Empowerer would tap his spiritual being to sap the lifeforce out of the enemy and replace it with his own. Stunner would be a quick-pased slash-and-swing of his sword, dazzling enemies with his superiour skill before Cyan dashes forward and places an unexpected blow. Quadra Slice would be a very contenctrated barrage of attacks, after a brief moment of meditation. Finally, at the peak of his training, he would learn Cleave.. He would concentrate his thoughts following a bit of chanting his spiritual language and in a spilt second he would undergo a berzerker-style tantrum, rendering him blind. He cannot feel pain at this moment, as his frenzied soul guides him into harms way to lash and strike with super-human strength, leaving all unlikely foes cower and meet thier doom.... -------------------- Its not denial. lol, this is funny
![]() For some reason... I can see this type of stereotyping. I guess it fits in with the topic. If Edgar, Sabin, and Locke all hung out together, it'd be kind of like an Ed, Edd, n Eddy type stereotyping (Edgar: Proper, clean dude; Sabin: Slow but funny dude; and Locke: the dude who always scams everybody of their cash... or gil, in this situation). I definitely see Edgar as a prep. Slap a polo shirt on him, put him on the varsity tennis team (or whatever they do now...) and you've got a winner.
Gogo is quite obviously a smelly bum. Locke would be the outcast rebel trouble-maker. Right now he's only been caught shoplifting, but a couple years down the road, his friend Bannon will ask him to deliver a package to a guy named Arvis, and he'll quickly discover how profitable the drug trade can be... If y'all have seen The Breakfast Club, he's obviously the badass. Gau.. hmm. I didn't know a lot of animal boys in high school. I dunno, he likes to jump/leap a lot. Maybe he's a basketball player. Setzer would be one of the card sharks from Bringing Down The House (the book, not the movie!), basically it's about a group of friends from MIT who head to Vegas every couple of months and bring home a few million dollars. -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |
