Although I haven't played MGS, I have pieced together that Liquid got the lousy genes, and Snake got the good ones. Now, regarding all this, where does Solidus fit in? Is he a clone? Someone tell me... I must've missed something, or... something.

Yes, he's the third clone created from the early 70's Les Enfants Terribles project, like Liquid and Solid. While Solid Snake has superior genes, Solidus is apparently in-between him and Liquid, being a "perfect balance" or whatever. He's also considered the "spitting image of Big Boss", so that could indicate he looks more like him than even Solid Snake or it's 'cause of his inexplicably older appearance and eye patch.

As you probably know, he was the leader of Dead Cell, carrying out activities under the alias "Solid Snake", whom people thought was dead. Prior to that he was the US President, under the name George Sears, who was in office during the events of MGS1's Shadow Moses incident (and possibly Zanzibar and Outer Heaven from the two older games). Solidus was supposedly involved with Ocelot and the plot to get Metal Gear REX, but afterwards the Patriots forced him to resign.

Eh...that's all I remember 'bout him without having played in a year or so.

Oh... ok, thank you SilverFork, that's cleared up a bit... I was curious as to where he fit in in all the cloning things... I wish I had his suit though biggrin.gif

at the end of MGS1, the conversation between Ocelot and Solidus are having a conversation and Ocelot says : "Yes, until the very end Liquid thought he was the inferior". Unless they're talking about Snake.

actually, you're all wrong. it is solid snake who is the *genetically* inferior clone. the end of mgs1 could not be any more clear about this, and i hear playing twin snakes all but makes entirely transparent of this idea. the underlying theme here is that liquid snake, while having an inherently superior set of genes, still succumbed to snake -- because the aggregate sum of solid's life experiences and his resolution of his options gave him the edge over nature's brute-force vote cast in liquid's favour.
