Wait... if Elena's not doing moderating of fanfic work anymore, who handles fanfic submissions?

Well, I can't be certain but I'm going to have to guess that it's whichever member of the site staff can get around to it now. There doesn't always have to be a certain person who always handles one job, it could just be a group effort. Besides, Elena did say that other people who moderated her old sections would fill up her gap. I guess that means if there were any one particular one person you had to contact about fan fiction, it would be R51 or Neal (The Site Submissions staff members). If I were you Zeph and wasn't quite sure who to contact, I'd just submit whatever work I wanted to submit in the submissions section of the forums. More likely then not, it will be handled by the apropriate person and/or people.
![]() But then again, your guess is as good as mine. Dangit, now you've got me wondering. *Shrugs shoulders.* This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 3rd May 2005 04:28 -------------------- |

No, I don't handle that part. I'm on break.
![]() There is someone who said he'd help, but I'll let the staff deal with letting the general forums know. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Ah, okay. It just struck me a few hours ago and I had to ask...

I already do have a few in there, FYI. ![]() -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... Yes. Should we perhaps re-submit via email?

I will be perfectly honest. Site submissions, primarily fanfics, are at a bit of a low priority right now. Most of the staff are tasked to different things, and have been since before Elena's announcement. I am, therefore, loath to retask people right now - change horses midstream, and people drown.
That said, well, things are just not going to get put up on the site as quickly as they were. So until things are straightened out, you guys should peer review each others' work - it wasn't Elena's job to give detailed proofreading and comments; she just did that so that the most people could be happy with the work, among them the author, the audience, and CoN staff. Handling that yourselves makes it possible to speed up the process a little bit, since it's less work that a dedicated CoN person is doing. Actually adding them to the site will happen on an "as we can" basis, but one of the things that Tiddles and will be soon working on is a streamlined submission system. So "as we can" may mean "not until after that's done." We are not currently looking for or accepting applications for the position of fanfiction manager. L.Cully: Submitting them via email would do what, exactly, that submitting them on the forum would not do? All: Speculating about what to do with the fanfics does not help anyone and leads only to confusion. Please continue status quo ante until directed otherwise. Quote (Rangers51 @ 3rd May 2005 05:30) L.Cully: Submitting them via email would do what, exactly, that submitting them on the forum would not do? ::shrug:: Indicate that the author feels his work is past the reviewing stage and is ready for submission, come hell or rejection letter? Have a hard copy in an inbox that's not mixed in with fanart or works in progress for less confusion? I don't know; that's why I was asking. -------------------- Some ghost of me might greet my son the day he is delivered. Eternal Sleep, Track 1-1: The Blue Planet |
