Here's a link to some info on the Revolution:

http://home.btconnect.com/hgi/nintendo-ds/

Obviously, its not totally official, but all the info has come from Iwata's mouth, so its pretty truthful. I also found various other sites that new Mario, Zelda, and Super Smash Bros. games are being currently developed for LAUNCH. Not only that, the GBA Evoltion will be out by the end of the year.

Not only that, but the Revolution will be WiFi, so no monthly fees, no internet connection, just straight-up online play right outta the box. Plus, the controllers has a microphone, and a headset port. Rock on.

Again, not official, but likely to be true. Note that the Revolution pic is just a concept design. Later guys.

Wow, I wasn't aware that the new console would play gamecube games as well. Just goes to show how out of the loop I am.

Well, here's hoping it's all it's promised to be. Esepcialy the WiFi connnection. I remember trying to get our GC online was a hastle that we eventualy gave up on.

The controller seems to be rather odd though. There's a definine lack of buttons. True, there's those handgrippy button things, but I think those might get a bit obnoxious.

The controllers do look weird, but that's what I thought of the 64 and GC controllers when they came out. Both fit like a glove.

I'm throwing my weight behind Nintendo's next-gen console. I'm tired of the awful hardware that Sony dishes out. Another plus is that Squenix + Nintendo are on friendlier terms than they have been in the past decade.

Another gameboy? They've barely done anything with the DS, why do they want to work on another handheld?

Well, that looks positively strange.

But, nevertheless, it's awesome news. The WiFi dealio sounds like a godsend. And another Punch-Out!! title possibly in the works?

I think that Nintendo has a chance to come back this time. If the Revolution is as good as it looks, then maybe the Revolution will...revolutionize. The future could be here, I know it.

Ok, I finally read part of the article and realize that was a stupid question. I still hate this connectivity thing. If I have to use my revolution system anyway as a router, doesn't it make online with the ds kind of pointless? Nintendo is going to much in to gimicks. They need to stick with the basics: backwards compatabitlity, (add) dvd player, and make it online accessable.

It IS backwards compatible, it DOES have online, and the games are on HiDef DVDs, so a DVD player is most likely there.

!!!YES!!!

The next nintendo console, the Nintendo DS: Revolution, will be revealed, play or non playable, in LA, cali. in a few weeks or a month or so.

Whos excited...

They said that the Revolution would have discs like the PS1 and PS2, but a much faster processor and a wireless connectivity to the internet web and the DS.

They said SoulCaliburIII would be one of its debut games on the Revolution, along with an unknown Mario title, a metroid title, and another mariokart!

If anyone knows anything, please post!

Note: you can also E-Mail me at [email protected], but only for the next week or so plz, ill be on vacation somewhere over that rainbow outside my room with the dancing leprechaun...HehE!.!.!. blink.gif

It's about time Nintendo gets its head out of its rear end and starts using a common format instead of some weaker, unusual storage medium. It was surprising to hear they wouldn't be using the terribly, TERRIBLY outdated cartridge format for the GameCube. Unless by "discs like the PS1/PS2" they mean "Weird hybrid CD/DVD that can only be read on our system with our hardware but that also isn't as powerful as a full-fledged DVD", then they're making a good move.

The question isn't wether it's "like the PS1/PS2" but wether it's anything that can match Sony's cell technology or Microsoft's triple 3.0Ghz processor architecture. It's a little too late right now to flaunt specs like the current generation of systems has for their next-gen system. And if that's the case, very few developpers are going to want to develope anything for them and Nintendo will experience a very painful financial blow because of it. One it does not need so soon after the GameCube's less-than-satisfactory revenue...

Here's in hopes it'll be able to stay afloat in the console wars; competition is what drives the opposition to produce bigger and better guns, after all.

I don't know where you read/heard that, but I've heard that SC III is going to be a PS2 exclusive, at least for awhile. Most of the other things that you've mentioned, while already having been discussed at length in another thread, are pretty much on the level from what I've heard.

Alright. Good day for me.

I spent about 45 min talking to the Nintendo rep today (I work in retail). All of what is listed below is true, from the Nintendo Rep's mouth. It is true that Nintendo will be revealing Revolution at E3 this year. They also said that that it would be avaible about the same time PS3 and Xbox2 would (4th Qtr 05, 1st Qtr 06.)

She told me that it would be backwards compatible with atleast GC. It will come WiFi ready, so plenty of interface with the Nintendo DS. No word on what games will be released with it.

Other then that though, even the rep didn't know much about it.

Some other stuff we talked about was just line up for DS, supposed to have alot of games comming out Summer/Fall of this year. A mario cart, advance wars, mario party, Metriod, and a few others that I can't remember, and of course, Square's Remake of Japan's FF3.

Edit
I'm sure most of, if not all of what I said has been talked about somewhere else. I'm not trying to be repetative, just letting everyone know everything I heard from the rep.

I think that controller was just a concept pic along with the system, for all we know it could be completely different.

Yeah, all the specs on that site are made from rumors and some are based on real information. The pic is a concept design. I personally care more for graphics at this point. I will buy one either way, I just want some eye candy.

At the Game Developers conference Iwata announced that there would not be any new game boy's. He said that they had just released the DS so why would they release another game boy or something to that extent.I think the Game Boy evolution is just a big rumor.

No. If you've evar watched Electric Playground, you'd know that one of the Nintendo people there said that the GBA2 was in the works.

Sides, Nintendo already said before the DS came out that it would work WITH the Cube and new GBA. Even with the Revolution, Nintendo plans to keep making Cube games.

The GBA2 is real.

I think the GBA 2 is just going to be like an upgrade like better sound or something. Just like the GBA sp was to the GBA. And not a whole new handheld system like the DS was.
