For looks, Crusader.
For Spells, Palidor, Phoenix, and Ragnarok are no-brainers. For damage...well, they all aren't too great in that aspect, but I loved using Alexander sometimes. Edit: For cuteness, Kitten Sith of course. This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 2nd July 2006 08:36 -------------------- |

None i hate all of them. They dont look cool or dont do dmg. I only like them for spells and i pretty well much like all of them when it comes to that. Right when you first get your four espers i get my whole party to learn all of the available magic that you can learn. Even if it makes Terra slightly weaker later on i still like to.

Unfortunately, the espers in FFVI dont help your party at all. Their magic is very weak.
But, Pheonix and Sraphim have help me a bit over when my party was down and I didnt have the option to cure/life everyone. As far as "looks" go, Alexander gets my vote. Its cool to see him to his thing. This post has been edited by because555 on 2nd July 2006 21:12 -------------------- I'VE HAD AN ETERNITY TO PONDER THE MEANING OF THINGS. I don't need espers in FF6. I play it like it's FF4. If I used Espers, I wouldn't need Celes, Terra, Strago, Relm, or Gau anymore

I'm partial to Ragnarok for Ultima, Raiden for Quick, and Seraphim, Bahamut, and Crusader because they look kinda cool.

What if your prescious Alexander rusted... muahaha... I can't brag like that cuz in FFIV, Odin's weakness is getting struck by lightning when he raises his blade (Source: Library in the Land of Summons.)

Hmmm..I like Palidor, Golem and Fenrir. Golem and Fenrir defends you from physical attacks, and Palidor allows all the party to perform a Jump attack. And maybe that Cait sith-looking esper, Stray Cat.

Phoenix . . . which makes up only one quarter of the fab four in my book. Golem would be first. Nullify all physical attacks? Yeah. That's one's a keeper. Carbuncle got the magic defense covered. Phoenix to keep the party on its feet, and Bahamut rounds it off rather nicely for decent non-elemental damage.

For the spells... Ragnarok. I swear, Ultima was, like, the ONLY spell I used once I got it. XD And I won't get into how many hours I totally wasted (but it was VERY MUCH worth it!!) teaching it to six of my characters. Hehe. Kefka was toast even before the party got started because of Ultima.
For the story... nothing beats Phoenix for me. And since I adore Locke above anything, he was the first to learn its spells, and once I had everyone who needed it trained up with the spells, he didn't let got of it again. Becuase I'm a sentimental dork like that. And for the fandork in me... Bahamut. Becase I bow to the greatness that is Bahamut. Always have, always will. ![]() |

Alexander and Bahamut
Alexander cuz he's cool and he goes VWIZH! BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG! Bahamut simply because he's the king of dragons, and would make you COMPLETELY void your bowels if you thought he was gunna blast ya. yeah, intimidation factor! -------------------- "Oh shut up. I null voted.
I never ever use them because the damage isn't high enough to justify the MP cost. The non-damaging ones are useless to me because you risk wasting a turn with a miss, and I've never found a point in this game where protective status was necessary or beneficial. With all the spell-crossover, I find it near impossible to rank any esper above another. As far as stat bonuses go, it depends on the relation to which character, and no character gets just one stat bonus.
