I was inspired by Sabin's thread to record a song that's been bugging be for a while now. Searching For Friends, aka the Falcon/WoR theme in FF3.

As I am a bassist, each track is bass. There are about 14-15 in all, plus a programmed drum track. Laid down a fretless bass track, and many many fretted parts on top. Overall, the chords were the biggest challenge, by far (you can't hear some of the subtleties but these chords are not intended to be played on a 4 string bass). The whole thing is a little rough but I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Now that I finally finished it I'm gonna hit the sack. Give it a listen if you want.

At the risk of making a slightly weak post, I really like it, for it's ambience and complexity. To do something so complex, accurate and well-timed is obviously indicative of great talent.

Having heard many versions of that theme that were very good. This one I liked though, very calm and relaxing.

Wow, that's pretty dern good! You're right that it's a little rough (mostly just the EQing), but it's REALLY well written. Kupo!
