Hello, I have been reading many posts about people who think Final Fantasy Tactics is to easy
![]() Normal Rules 1: You must go through forward everyday. This means that you cant wander off to go train or buy items from cities that arnt directly in your path. Meaning ------- line. Always travel by the fastest route. 2: No "stealing gp". This means that you can't just corner 1 guy and speed rape him. If you'r attempting to steal/invite the player, dont use abillities with other players unless they are actually tactical. 3: No using tricks to get infinate money/items/equipent. That means that you shouldn't dupe. Advanced Rules + Normal 1: No using invitation ![]() 2: No using specially awarded charecters ![]() 3: The kill shot ![]() If you manage to beet the game under these conditions (or some), message me and ill create a unique challage ![]() This post has been edited by Undead_Inuyasha on 3rd June 2005 05:08 -------------------- When the world ends ^^, ill be the one who told you so. |

Normal Rules
1. This is quiete simple, you just need to take every random battle on the path to your enxt destination. 2. I've never been using steal except on Elmdor to get his equipment so who cares... 3. That means you allow duping every shield/weapon in the game but you are preventing from selling them? ![]() Advanced Rules + Normal 1. What's the deal with invitation? no monsters ans no "invite a knight and sell his equip"? 2. I guess you mean special jobs such as Holy Knight & Divine knight... the game isn't hard at all without them. 3. Kay... ![]() Just look at Ifrit & Fire 3 Ifrit: Effect 3, Vertical 2, Fire Elemental, Cast time = Fire 3, Mp Cost = Fire 3, Damage = Fire3. Fire 3: Effect 2, Vertical 2, Fire Elemental --------------------- Really I think that you should develop a bit your challenge because I really don't think this is worth it. It would be extremely easy... with the game being 10% harder. This post has been edited by Zodiac on 2nd June 2005 21:07 -------------------- Sayonara |

That'd be really easy. First random encounter you have, have everyone kill all but one enemy and run away from it. Every turn, someone uses accumulate. JP increase, exp increases. Within one battle you can master Squire and, theorically, reach level 99 (though this is useless, massively time-consuming, and probably not a very smart move anyhow.)
Assuming you don't make any dumb mistakes (like counterattacking the sole remaining enemy after misjudging its movement) you can master one job per battle and, if you have the patience, go up to any level you want. 1- No issue there. Why waste time with random encounters when you'll be maxed out anyways? Equipment and items is all I can think of, but a monk can own any battle without a weapon and can cure everyone with Chakra. 2/3- Why bother? What good is money if you have free alternatives to everything? ![]() 1a- I can't say I know of anyone who used invitation very often, if ever. Your original 5 characters should be good enough; monsters are practically useless (and definitely unecessary) and building up another character just isn't worth it when you can only take 4-5 characters in a battle. 2a- With cyborg death-monks whose hands are molten plasma that deals 500+ damage per attack, who needs a wussy little whiner like Orlandu? He'd only slow your wave of destructive ninja moon-monks. 3a- ...But... but... who even uses black magic when your party of monks can do way more damage by using far fist? Sure, the area of effect is lessened, but why bother anyways? Even if you keep away from monks, black magic is pretty useless once you get summons. ![]() You could really jazz up a challenge like this by restricting the amount of levels/job levels accumulated in a battle, reducing the max amount of characters you can take in battle, and/or forcing the use of no magic or abilities (or even reaction/movement/support abilities, if you feel really cruel.) -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Well I see that people are actually interested in this challange
![]() One thing though, NO using methods of Maxing Exp and GP. That means no cornering one enemy. And no duping items either ![]() This post has been edited by Undead_Inuyasha on 3rd June 2005 05:06 -------------------- When the world ends ^^, ill be the one who told you so. |

The challenge might be more difficult if you imposed these rules:
1) Offensive actions must be taken at every chance. So, instead of getting to cure your near-death player, you'll have to go after an enemy. 2) Running from the enemy to heal is prohibited. 3) You have to move towards the enemy each turn to the maximum extent. That means no using Secret Clothes/Sunken State and Regen to camp in the corner. 4) Status effects--positive and negative--are prohibited except by natural means (poison marsh). 5) Special characters cannot be invited under any circumstances. You'll have to miss the Excalibur and Save the Queen this time. 6) You can only buy weapons once per chapter, and that's only at the first town you come upon. You can buy potions in endless amounts, though. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Harsh. I was gonna suggest:
1) You can have NO healers in combat (Including chemists) 2) NO healing abilities allowed. 3) You many NOT use special characters. 4) Unless it will fail the mission, you MUST kill any guests. OR!!!! 1) You may only use Ramza and one other character. 2) You may NOT use the squire abilities for Ramza (Applicable only after you can change class of course...) 3) No TG Cid. -------------------- There is life after you've been to hell and back. Hello again, i see that there have been a whole bunch of posts on this topic. I personally always thought the game was a little difficult. Apparently i was kinda wrong
![]() So to help Organize this, i suggest that if you wish to set up a challenge, give it a name that goes along with what its occiated with. Ex.: Shotgunnova post suggests that the characters cannot use methods of healing and the person must always be on the offensive. Warriors bum Rush sounds like a good name. ill post later -------------------- When the world ends ^^, ill be the one who told you so. |

Personally, I think the Ramza Solo Challenge is a classic and still harder than anything posted so far.

Solo Ramza isn't so hard if you can get Calculator by Thieves' Fort or so. I've heard of people that claim to have done a Solo Squire Ramza challenge before, now that's tricky.

Ok, new set of conditions added to the first set.
1) No healing PERIOD. (I won't hold it against you if an ENEMY heals you, meaning the ambitious can fudge this a bit.) This includes status removal. 2) No Special Characters. 3) Ramza and one other (I say this because of other conditions...) 4) No special Squire abilites. I don't care if you throw rocks day in and day out, no yell/scream/wish/heal/whatever else was not standard squire. 5) MUST prioritize killing guests (if it won't fail mission) over enemies. 6) No Monk class. 7) No status effect magic (Positive or negative!) 8) No reseting to skip random battles. 9) Straight line play-through. 10) No calculator, bard, or dancer class/abilities. Ok, that got rid of everything I could think of that would help a solo-ramza beat the game, and makes solo-ramza almost impossible if not outright so. With a second character, it might work. Of course, you might lose that second character every battle too. I can see a few in my mind that I don't think I could pass without being 30 levels above everything else. Maybe Lancers would be useful since while jumping, they don't get slapped around. Ok, if someone see's a problem of THAT one being too easy...go to hell :p -------------------- There is life after you've been to hell and back. The most wonderous of life. Maybe you ought to do it in the style of the original FF game. Try it with only a Knight (Fighter), Thief, Black Mage, and a Red Mage (either Summoner or Time Mage?). Or you could just do it with four White Mages.

If you want a challenge, do what I did (accidentally) the first time I played.
I did not have the instruction booklet, and, because I am and arrogant male, I decided not to use the tutorial, so I set some of my own (arrogant) rules. 1) No job change 2) No adding abilities or setting abilities 3) You must always go the fastest route 4) You cannot use curative items or phoenix downs and the worst rule of all... 5) You cannot change weapons or armor without using the fitting room at the item shop. -------------------- "There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. No offense...but are you just LAZY, stupid, or playing the game in a language you can't understand? Serious, no offense, but I never had the patience for tutorials and instruction manuals (At least, reading past the story outline...) and none of this was any sort of problem. It all added up quite well actually. Again, no offense meant man.
Also, I played through maybe 3 times before I started NOT using the fitting room exclusively. That's not so bad really... -------------------- There is life after you've been to hell and back. Let me see...
I probably am stupid ![]() And the fitting room rule means you cannot equip the Excalibur or Chaos Blade or any super weapon. The only time you can change equipment is at the shop's fitting room. I'm thinking a solo-ramza challenge would be fun. Hell, already do it since I'm too lazy to bring in my ninja's anymore and with attack up, a bracer, move +3, auto-potion, and his squire abilities (All but ultima) he ends up killing pretty much EVERYTHING in one hit...Damn death monk. Gotta make him a theif for this or something...

Pretty simple, use a set up story battle with a level 99 Malak with "Auto Potion" "Attack Up" and "Move +3"

You want tough?
Everyone in your party must be a calculator as soon as possible. Rule 1: NO USING CALC SKILLS, only attack. Rule 2: Use only Item as your secondary ability. Rule 3: For reaction abilities you may not use HP restore, MP restore, auto potion, sunken state, speed save, or dragon spirit. If someone finds this easy still... amazing. If that's the case then.... Rule 4: Change rule 2 to no secondary ability.
