Im not sure if anyone else does this and i haven't seen a topic covering this but i developed a way to make mass jp and exp without having to start new battles. basicially make it so everyone has basic skill, but also some sort of healing/mana restore ability. have everyone in party throw stones at one another and then have someone heal them. either throw stones or accumulate. my favorite way of doing this is making at least 1 party member a monk, and 1 party member a wizard or calculator. if its a calculator razma can yell at him a few times to get his/her speed up to snuff. meanwhile the wizard or calculator can turn enemies into a frog so they can dish out almost no damage. so no you have no enemies that are a threat, you've got your party throwing stones at each other (not really doing much damage, but makin good exp and jp), and a monk to give out all the chakra they can take. this works especially well if you can find a spot on a map where there is a cross shaped peice of land that is flat so chakra can hit all members of the party at once.

Meh. Just make sure everyone has accumulate and Ramza yell (and later on, scream.)

Polish off all but one enemy and have Ramza yell a bit so he gets multiple turns. Then have him yell at everyone and have the rest of the party accumulate. Run around to keep away from the enemy. Within a few turns you'll all get double turns, making it impossible to be caught.

Alternately, you can use Speed Break on the last target until its speed is 1. Anyone with ranged attacks makes this a lot easier: snipe away with speed break. 1 speed means the target practically never acts. And when it does, your party will be far, far away.

I master a job every battle this way. smile.gif

ya i usually speed break them too, but its been so long since i played fft that i don't remember it all. i have the cd sitting right here, but no psx or ps2 to play it on sad.gif i played around with a lot of different strategies and i found the frog one to be the most fun. either that or have a mediator turn them into a chicken.

I could've sworn that this topic has been started before... huh.gif

Anyway, if you do the JP scroll glitch you can get tons of JP.

Come on, cheating is the only way to go. tongue.gif

Also, try trapping enemies in formations that will keep it trapped and not kill it, while gaining you JP.

e.g. If you trap a chocobo in the corner of mandalia plains and attack it without killing it, it will use chocobo cure and cure you and it and both of you will not die unless you kill it. Get what I'm saying? If not, cast flare on me. ohmy.gif

I had everyone in a + formation with Boco in the center. Killed all but one guy, and had Boco Choco Cure every turn and everyone else accumulate. Ramza yelling at someone makes the process go faster. Mandalia Plains is an excellent place to do this, because coming from (I think) Igros puts you against some rocks to make the + formation a very good defensive position.
When I had to do the special characters (the ones without Accumulate), I just had everyone else at Lv99, and had the SC attack the generic on the right of the cross (looking at it to where the SC is at the top). You can't have the SC attack Boco because of counter attacks.

Another method i became fond of (for unique characters) was to have a knight with basic skill power/speed break and enemy till they were totally useless. then the unique char (since they have no accumulate) can sit there with steal on and steal gold all day long. who cares about how much gil you get.... jp all the way tongue.gif

Instead of stealing, why don't you use summon magic like golem or something.

That affects all of your allies, making it much more useful.

But still, stealing will work.

Also, the status boosting katana attacks, white magic, time magic, ying yang magic... the list will never end.

Rather than devise some really big strategy, I just play off the monsters' natural weaknesses. In levels like Lesalia Plateau or Bariaus Valley, I kill all the characters except for those that cannot enter water and move all the characters who want to leech easy EXP/JP into the water.

This way, you don't have to worry about anything the enemy does and you can do the ol' gather-around-the-Chakra trick without regard for anything but your characters. Alternatively, on Bariaus Valley, you could flood your characters to one side of the riverbank and block off the one-square "bridge" that way.

Another strategy i stumbled across recently is makin unique characters like agrias mediators so they can chicken everything in site, then negotiate. I had a chicken trapped in a corner for like an hour.

I've always used the "Stand around with Ramza yelling and everyone else accumulating" In fact, I've dealt 999 damage with an unarmed wizard...

the only problem with the accumulate strategy is that eventually you'll have 99 attack power, and won't get anything anymore. That is unless you bring a knight to power break everyone back down. tongue.gif

You could just get a someone with chakra and Beat each other up on the course with the river running through the middle. The cats enemies on the otherside won't be able to touch you, as they can't go in the water. Thats what I did for JP and EXP anyhow. That and the velius battle. That battle is great for getting Ramza huge amounts of levels.

Do you know how long it would take to get 99 attack power? If you get there, you could start yelling and screaming (Magic attack power and speed) for Ramza and cast Shell, Haste, and Protect on the others.

Here's what you (at least what I) do: Designate each character with a job that you wnatthem to learn, whether for standard use, or because of an ability. Make sure they all have Gained JP UP. Find a spot where there are 5 adjoining sqaures all at the same level, making an X. There is one in the Swamp, and two in Mandalia Plains. Place weaker characters, such as wizrds, in the places where they can be protected by the terrain, beside rocks and things. Place a Monk, or a strong, physuical oriented character in the middle with Chakra. He sould have HP Restore to, to be safe. Once all 5 characters are lined up in an X, surrounding the guy with Chakra, let the pounding begin! Personally, I put Ramza in the middle; he gets hit by everyone, so it gradually beefs up his JP aside from his current job. Have any wizards cast magic; have white wizards help keep your allies well defended. When i enter Mandalia Plains, I make a straight line for the spot, ignoring the enemies along the way. As they approach you and attack you, you can just fight back. Since you're constatly being Chakra'd, you wont die unless you get hit REALLY HARD. Also, since you're not moving youre characters, they will be able to act quickly. If you have any bards or dancers, it'd be helpful to use Dance and Sing.

Personally, I'm usually to level 15 or 16 before I go to thje Sweegy Woods, and I always spend a good time powering up.

I got a way to get 9999 jp for some jobs. it doesnt work on all jobs but go to Gamefaqs and look up fft and then go to cheats. godown to the bottom and look at the one that says 9999 jp. i wrote it and it does work. like it works on all magic characters counting mediator and it also works on lancer. it does others too.

Ya munk, that's the jp scroll glitch arcknight mentioned. I meant a way without "cheating" And there are many many ways of doing so, but they are all time consuming.

In the newbie guide I just read that you get 1/6 the jp that someone in that class gets when they are leveling that class. For instance, Ramza is a theif and gets 60 jp, everyone else gets 10 jp for theif. Now if everyone is a theif, you will get 10/6 jp for theif (6/6 yourself and 4/6 from the other members), in effect nearly doubling the jp you would gain. Awesome to know.
