SEGA Fantasy VI (parody of Final Fantasy VI). Watch as consoles old and new confront the evil PSP in a final showdown to save essence of gaming. One of the best flash animations I have ever seen. happy.gif

When I ran across this, I found myself smiling, laughing, crying, and thinking of the old days. Well, maybe not too much crying, but you get what I mean. Evidently originally in Japanese, translated into English later on. Well, enough with the chit-chat, here is the link.

If that site ever goes down or otherwise unavailable, I'll have it on my personal webspace for a while over here.

Hey, I just saw that earlier today. It's quite the entertaining, well done bit but it has somewhat poor planning in the fact that it's almost all fighting in the begining and then it goes through the various points of the story nonstop afterwards. It really brought back some memories frin both general video game history and FF VI. It's an excellent show to say the least.

Cripes almighty that was long... but cool! Funny to boot.

True dat. I forgot the length of VI's ending. Phew. Quite an impressive feet actually for flash.

Damn, I was going to post on this and you beat me to it. I almost cried at a couple parts and I thought it was quite funny. However, don't agree with viewing the PSP as the evil nemesis, though, I know it's a joke.

I've seen it several times already. Damn funny. Dialogue especially:

"PSP uses Broken Square Button" (or something like that).

Tech Service "Please hold, your call is important to us". The Genesis, 32X and CD come together... "Sega!". laugh.gif The fight scenes were awesome, and show what kinds of cool stuff could be done with a modern 2D RPG. It's amazing what people will do with their free time. Thanks for the link RK!

DESTROY THE EVIL PSP tongue.gif. I loved all the link cable parts. Then the GB "My hardware will live on inside of you." And at the very VERY end the two GBA advances (a.k.a. Duane and Katarin) give birth to the DS. One of the best flash animations I've seen in a while.

Ack. I didn't even notice it was translated now. Wasn't before from what I saw.

Better watch it again rather than let my crappy linguistic skills do the work...

Edit
And an X-Box in place of Umaro. Is there anything more fitting?

That was a pretty good flash, and I agree destroy the evil PSP.

Wow. Except for a few bits t the end (no pun intended) it was stuck to FF6 six very well, even though some of the parts made no sense (SNES is PS's father? ohmy.gif )

Interesting. However, I wonder why the author chose to change so many parts at the very end, after remaining so true to Final Fantasy VI's scenes until then.

I followed the link from 8BT few days ago... haven't seen the whole thing yet (dialup, y'know), but it's all funny, cute, and nostalgically sad at the same time... so awesome... ;-;

Nothing other than the first part (dialogue between 'Kefka' and the 'characters') appears for me. Does anyone else have that problem?

Anyways, it's quite interesting, but a bit slow.

I actually can't believe they stuck the Virtual Boy in it. There are no words that can describe how much that product truly bombed.

I'd say one of the best moments in it was when PSP did its TFT attack, engulfing the entire party, but after it fades away, we see the brave XBox with 9999 damage, defiantly shielding the rest of the party.

God, I love all the plethora of console jokes that were in it. It'd be interesting if someone compiled a list of all of them and explained them.

What... don't look at me. I'm lazy.

I really have nothing better to do...

(Skipped most of the obvious ones)

Quote
N64: 3DO!  Hit that triangle button!
3DO: But, I am not good with polygons!
3DO: Real!  Wake up, Real!
3DO: Try?  *sob*...curse you, empire!

The 3DO was, of course, a next-gen system/multimedia player - that could make use of pixels and FMV's - released in the early 90's. There were several companies that came out with their own version of it and upgrades, one of the earliest models called "3DO Real".

Quote
Wonderswan: You know, when you take a real good look, you're even better looking than Naomi.
Wonderswan: Alright, I'll help.  But only if you'll be my woman!
Dreamcast: ...Ok, I accept.  But only if you beat me at gambling.  That's alright with you, isn't it?  Mr Character Games.

The Sega Naomi was (is?) an arcade system/board based on the Dreamcast's technology.

Quote
Gamecube: It's not like I went against your wishes, brother
Gamecube: I thought, even with discs, I can handle anything the kids throw at me.  That's why I tried to become stronger...

Well, the N64 was the last next-gen console to use carts. Almost seemed like Nintendo was attached to them.

Quote
Dreamcast: We have to press both the buttons at the same time!
Wonderswan: NeoGeo Pocket!  Link with Dreamcast!

Neat little feature...if you had both.

Quote
Saturn: I will never let go!
Dreamcast: Thank you...Saturn

Clearly Locke and Celes = Two Sega disc-based systems.

Quote
PS1: Father?
Super Famicom: Farewell, PlayStation.  The old fashioned machines are leaving this world.  Perhaps even you, whose blood flows also through my veins...

Nintendo of Japan originally worked with Sony to develop a disc-based add-on for the Super Famicom (or something like that. I don't remember if they ever planned for a western release). Sony later used the same technology to make the PlayStation.

Quote
Virtual Boy: Go, Pocket Pikachu!
Pocket Pikachu: Pika...
Virtual Boy: Take care...
Virtual Boy: It looks like I'll finally be free of the pest.  Greet him warmly for me, Lynx

Virtual Boy, Pocket Pikachu, and Atari Lynx - all portables (well, the Virtual Boy didn't manage it as well as Nintendo thought). Also, both the Virtual Boy (Shadow) and the Lynx (Baram) had short lifespans - though I thought the Lynx was pretty cool...

Quote
Children: Come on, SP
SP: I can still...
SP: fight...

Hee hee, the kids are GameBoy Pockets, then GBA SP gives birth to DS.

Quote
Controller1: Hardware with a built in clock, eh.  What a frightful thing to think that it became unable to read discs after only one year...
Controller2: That's no problem.  Just flip it over!

Common problem with early PS2s.

Other things:

Pocket PlayStation becomes PSP.

Game Gear - "grandad" of the Dreamcast.

When PSX "Morphs" it becomes the newer model PSX.
