I think Ving Rhemes is too beefy. Shadow is very tall and thin.

Actually, Malcolm MacDowell would make a great Kefka now that I think about it, but he's rather old. I'd stick with him as a second.

And if we're not putting in time, I'd say the dude who played Puck in Legend would make a great Gau...if it were still 1985 though.

Blood & Fire

Well, let's see here. If we were to make FF6 into a movie, it would be pretty easy to write some characters out of the story entirely for time constraints. I'd hate it as much as you guys would, but we could pretty much do without:

Sabin (I KNOW he's EVERYBODY's favorite, but yeah, Sabin....other than going to pick up Cyan and Gau, which you could have Edgar fall off the raft very easily instead, Sabin's purpose in the story is bare minimal at best.)
Gau(Again, bare minimal)
Mog(Need I even say more?)
Umaro(Again, need I say more?)
Gogo(Yeah, he's the coolest LOOKING character in the game, but honestly, it'd be too easy to write him off)
Relm(Write out the whole Thamasa burning scene, and she's really not needed...change Strago into the village elder of Thamasa or something)


Again, I realize the cutting of characters is complete and utter blasphemy, but you've also got to remember, if you want to cram this whole story into one 3 hour movie, you need to have good character development. Having 14 characters get developed in a 3 hour movie is impossible.


Characters that would be needed:

And good choices for these roles, I suppose...

Terra-I really don't know, we could always cast some new actress

Locke-Leo Dicaprio...He's not a bad actor, and he certainly has the Locke look going for him...unless you want to make Locke more "rugged" which i think is a better choice for this character, in which case, I think someone like Tom Cruise (he's a little old, but someone with a similar appearance would suffice)\

Edgar- I don't know, but I want the person playing this role to have an extensive Shakespearian acting background. Why? Because Edgar is a King, he needs to walk, look, and act regally....having an intense amount of charisma and energy, and yet at the same time have childish humourous moments and even some quiet reflections. You truly need a seasoned Shakespearian actor to get these emotions across. (Granted he wouldn't act this role in Shakespeare, but as far as the extravagant mannerisms go, you need that background)

Cyan-Well, I suppose Viggo Mortenson would be an excellent choice for this role...especially if he tied his 'Aragorn Hair" into a ponytail.

Setzer-I am REALLY liking Johnny Depp for the choice of this role. Depp likes playing batty, off the wall characters, and this would be a good part for him.

Celes-Scarlet Johansen is also a pretty good choice for this role.

Strago-hmm, tough choice. Christophrer Lloyd is TOO batty I think, and Ian Mckellan is too serious. Sean Connery is too tough, and Christopher Lee to frightening. I would say Alec Guinness....too bad he's dead...

Shadow:You could very easily have someone in Shadow's costume and another person speaking the lines, ala Darth Vader... Toby Maguire has got an excellent figure for Shadow, but Shadow's voice would have to be much deeper, quieter, and even eerie...I'm liking Tony Jay, the voice actor, for Shadow's voice.

Kefka: TIM ROTH!!! He's so PERFECT for this role! Geez!

Here's my take.

Terra: Hmm...that's tricky. Not many have the right aura of innocence in Hollywood. I'd actually try to get an upstart to play this role, she'd look less jaded. Actually, my ex-gf would fit the role well.

Locke: The guy who played Darien Fawkes on The Invisible Man - Vincent Ventresca.

Edgar: Heath Ledger - he played half the part in A Knight's Tale already!

Sabin: The Rock - he would play a much better and more dynamic Sabin than anybody else, I think.

Celes: Who played the princess of Rohan in LotR? She would make a PERFECT Celes.

Cyan: I don't think he should be british - as much as I'd like to see Sean Connery in this movie, not here. This is a tough one because I'm not familiar with many oriental actors - but anybody who looks like a walking Samurai Jack could grow a beard and play this part, it wouldn't be a very hard one to act.

Strago: John Rhys-Davies could dye his hair and play a VERY intersting Strago, I think.

Setzer: THIS could be where Sean Connery comes in. Dashing, roguish, oldish...yes.

Shadow: Owen Wilson? Emphasize the cowboy side...Jackie Chan? Vin Diesel?

Relm: Oooh, toughie...no idea whatsoever.

Gau- You don't need somebody THAT young, and he has to be pretty buff...no idea.

Mog- CGI. Voice done by...no idea. The guy who voiced Duo in Gundam Wing?
Gogo- Who cares, voice done by Weird Al, or maybe Robin Williams.
Umaro- Ape suit. Who cares?
Banon- John Rhys-Davies could do both roles, he and Strago don't have any scenes together or anything. He'd make an excellent Banon.
Leo- Sean Connery would make a good Leo, though he'd look absolutely ODD in a mohawk.
Duncan- No idea, probably a nobody.
Cid- Another tough one. I wouldn't cast anyone big here.


Kefka- Jim Carey, 'nuff said.

Gestahl- Malcolm McDowell. Remember Wing Commander 4? Remember Tolwyn? Enough said, methinks.

Ultros- Weird Al could do this one.

Vargas- Jet Li.

Ziegfried/Sigfried- That's a tricky one...the phony has to sound like a very forced voice - I'd get some joe off the street. For the real one, the guy who did the voice of Heero Yuuy in the American Gundam Wing dub would do that really well.

Lone Wolf- Oooh, another hard voice. No clue.

Sean Connery as Setzer? Sean Connery playing a 27 year old?

Whatever floats your boat, you're the director.

The Rock as Sabin-Excellent Choice my friend. John Rhys Davies as well.

But remember that for Edgar and Sabin, you need two guys who look at least somewhat alike.

Anthony Hopkin judging by Silence of the Lambs would be a great Gestahl.

If Bruce Lee were alive he would beat the shit out out of Jet for the role of Shadow
Setzer could be oh hell Andrew W.K. ( don't shoot me but they look similar )

When i really start to think about it, why should they even try to make a movie. They would probably just kill the spirit of the game and everything it stands for.

Terra - Drew Barrymore (hair dyed green) - just because she could pull it off

Locke - Brad Pitt or Matt Damon just because they r ladies men and look like "treasure hunters" (no offense to fans, just my opinion)

Edgar - Owen Wilson - just because he's fresh and would do anything to get with a girl (kinda like Edgar)

Kefka - Johnney Depp because you want sadistic... well look no further

Shadow - Jet Li or Jakie Chan (to do the fighting) with Scott McNeil (voice actor of wolverine in X-Men:Evolution) as a voice over, because neither Jet Li or Jakie Chan sound very threatening (again no offense to those who think so)

Vargas - The Rock... no particular reason just that in my opinion they look alike

Sabin - Arnold Swartinager [<-SP?]

Banon - Mel Gibson no reason just looks the part

Cyan - Orlando Bloom he has proven his swordsmanship in "Pirates of the Caribbean" and I believe he could do it

Mog - Danny Devito or Verne Troyer (mini-me) just because their short and could fill the roll perfectly

Relm - Amanda Bynes just because Relm is super annoying and (again no offence) in my opinion Amanda Bynes has a talent for being annoying

????? (the ghost) - Macaulay Culkin just because he looks so pale white all the time

Strago - Sean Connery looks the part

Gestahl - Christopher Lee no reason

Duncan - Harrison Ford - looks the part

Gogo - Ryan Seacrest well because he's involved in so many other things why not FF VI

Setzer - Well for this part i would also have to choose Orlando Bloom... just look at the long hair from lord of the rings and tell me he could not pull on Setzer

Gau - Seth Green looks the part.

Celes - Reese Witherspoon just looks the part

Cid - Rick Moranis just because their both nerdish type people

General Leo - Samuel L. Jackson, Wesley Snipes, or Laurence Fishburne because they are all capable actors and could easily pull off the role

Out of all the FFVI Characters the hardest to cast have gotta be Terra, Shadow, and Relm. It is quite hard to find good actors/actresses to do them.

Jim Carrey could not do Kefka. His Riddler was OK... but I don't know if he could pull off the sheer malevolance of Kefka.

Tim Roth would work much better... but he'd have to overact his part, like Jim Carrey would.

Otherwise, I see some good selections.

If ou cast Brad Pitt as Sabin (which could be pulled off) it would be funny to cast Edward Norton as Edgar.

Im telling you guys Robert Englund could make the best Kefka, i mean the guy is Freddy Freaking Krueger, that guy had a creepy laugh, kreepy face, and if you painted him up like a 10 dollar whore (like Kefka) nothing would be more scary.

I wouldnt mind seeing Mike Myers play kefka, think he's proven he could do the job (A.k.a. Austin powers - dr. evil) as for the others... eh... i dunno, lol

now i have to throw in a seriouse suggestion here. I dont know if anyone has heard of david hayter. but i think that he would be a perfect shadow he has the build and the voice. you might have hear some of his work in metal gear solid as the voice of solid snake. and he also wrote the storylines to x men and the hulk!

Terra- Natalie Portaman. Knightley was good, though she talks too much.

Locke-- Bloom. Harrison Ford's too old and Frasier and Reeves are too big. Slater jst doesn't have the character.
Edgar-- Wilson and Deep, either one.

Sabin--Ewan McGregor. Arnold (ahhhhh!) and van Damm just couldn't do it.

Shadow-- Jet Li, no qestion.

Celes-- Carrie Ann Moss. Diaz is too camical.

Cyan-- Viggo Moranson. Hanks, just no. Connery just doesn't liik it.

Gau-- Wood. Wtf with Myers and Williams?

Setzer-- any doubt for Depp? Neeson was a good idea though.

Bannon-- Richard Griffiths.

Strago-- probably no big-name actor, but Chris Lloyd would work.
