okay, if you're not being serious, then it was a good laugh.

but those others?

Lol, I HATE everyone's casting choices! Nicole Kidman as Celes? Celes is 19, Nicole Kidman is THIRTY SIX! but you'll probably hate mine, so it's all good.

Terra - This one is tough, because she's my favorite character, and no one seems to be good enough for her role. But I do think Christina Ricci would do a good job.

Celes - Either Scarlett Johanssen (she's young and tough, and perfect for the role) or Angelina Jolie (not as young, but definitely tough)

Nah, Robin Williams wouldn't make a good Shadow. He'd make a nice Strago, though.

OK, for those of you that have never heard of some of these actors, I will link to pics of the leading actors.
Terra - Christina Ricci
Locke - Harrison Ford OR Leonardo DiCaprio
Edgar - Brad Pitt
Sabin - Brad Pitt
Shadow - Jet Li
Cyan - Sean Connery
Gau -
Celes - Nicole Kidman
Setzer - Johhny Depp
Relm -
Strago -
Mog - Danny DeVito
Kefka - Jim Carrey
Gestahl - Sean Connery
Leo - Sylvester Stallone

OK, there they are. I personally think that the closest looks-wise to an FF character would have to be Nicole Kidman to Celes. The next would be Brad Pitt to Edgar.

But does anyone honestly think that a thirty six year old mother of two would make a good Celes?

Someone suggested Johnny Depp as Locke, but I think he'd make a better Shadow, he's definitely got the dark and quiet thing down, if you don't count his Jack Sparrow character. or he could easily play Edgar.

Heath Ledger would make a good Sabin.

I stand by my thought that Scarlett Johansson would make a terrific Celes, she looks the same, is the same age, and is considered one of the best new actresses around right now.

Um... why not? Does Nicole Kidman really look like a 38-year-old? I don't think so, but I guess that view isn't shared by everyone...
I agree that Johnny could play Edgar, though. He'd be fairly decent.

I don't think she could pass as 19, but I know older stars play young characters all the time. but usually those are people in their mid twenties, not mid thirties. I am too much of a purist; I'd want the actors to be perfect for their roles, which is, I suppose, why Squaresoft would never use real actors. it's impossible to make everyone happy with a human.

OK, there they are. I personally think that the closest looks-wise to an FF character would have to be Nicole Kidman to Celes. The next would be Brad Pitt to Edgar.

Christina Ricci as Terra: I think she has a similar appearance, but she's far from being similar to the character. I'd think we need a more reserved person to play Terra. Or...how about Jodie Foster (came to mind because it was on the bold list below)? She did quite a nice job with Dr. Arroway in Contact, and I think Terra's role would have some similarities...
Harrison Ford as Locke: too old.
Leonardo Dicaprio as Locke: Hey, he looks just about right.
Brad Pitt as Edgar or Sabin: I don't remember what he starred in (I don't watch many movies), but judging by this picture here, I'd say he'd be fit to neither role.
Jet Li as Shadow: Judging by the picture here, I think you need someone more stern and less friendly in his look. Maybe Li can do a nice job at it, though; I don't know his acting well.
Sean Connery as Cyan: Not bad of a choice; Connery could definitely play Cyan's role well. But you might be able to find someone else who looks more like Cyan than Connery does...For some reason I think that you might want a tall east Asian man with a mustache and a long face. Does anyone have a picture of Toshira Mifune (who is that anyways?)?
Nicole Kidman as Celes: Not the best choice, in my opinion. She doesn't even look like Celes, according to my judgement, and at least it appears that Celes doesn't care that much about looking "sexy" as does Kidman appears to in this picture (although that is debatable). Scarlett Johansson, I think, is a much better choice--she looks a lot more like Celes.
Johnny Depp as Setzer: not bad of a choice. I didn't have one in mind myself, and although Depp doesn't match what I was thinking of, he might be able to do a good job at it, judging from the picture alone. I don't know what roles he hes played and how well he did them.
????? as Mog: How about a kid being Mog--especially a short kid? I don't think moogles are anywhere near as tall as humans, so we would need someone who could actually dress in that approx. 3-ft tall costume. And he might have the voice of a child; who knows? (Yeah...does anybody know what a moogle should sound like, or what they want a moogle to sound like? I envision a high pitched "Kupo!")
Sylvester Stallone as Leo: I don't think so. Somehow I don't think he would fit as Leo. Any more pictures?

Chewbacca as Umaro and voice of Chewbacca as Gogo (from Figaro's earlier post): yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I guess Chewbacca as Umaro wasn't enough; you had to make his voice that of Gogo.

Jim Carrey as Kefka: Jim Carrey is definitely wacky (or one might say wacko) enough to play Kefka, and do it very well. But do we have a picture of whoever played the "original evil clown"--the Joker of the Batman story?
Sean Connery as Gestahl: I don't think so. Somehow I don't think he would fit as Gestahl. Well...maybe...well...maybe not. More pictures?

By the way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to Figaro for posting these picture links! They were very helpful!

Does anyone have a picture of Toshira Mifune (who is that anyways?)?

Toshiro Mifune was the star of many of Akra Kurosawa's films. Kurosawa was one of the greatest film directors in Japan from the 50's - 90's. If youve never heard of his most famous film, Seven Samurai, ( in which Mifune played a peasent, posing as a samurai ) you might be intersested to know that the famous western The Magnificent Seven, was based on this film. Mifune might not look a great deal like Cyan, but with his talent at acting, he could convince you.

With your third and fifth pics, I think he looks like Cyan, and I think he could easily portray Cyan's attitude and personality. To whoever suggested Mifune: I think he's a really nice choice for Cyan.

Hmm... *rubs chin thoughtfully* Those really do look like Cyan. But the only problem would be that those look like they're pretty old movies. If they are, then he must be pretty old by now. But hey, maybe he looks more like Cyan now!

Okay...Nicholson looks a bit old for a Kefka role, but do we know how old Kefka really is? Because in that picture he does look like a less demented, older Kefka.

Yeah...how old is Kefka anyways?

Kefka doesn't look old at all during the game. Celes and Terra are both 18 at the start of the game, so I'd say Kefka is just a few years older then Celes. because they both got magitek infusions and he was the first, so if he was 18 like Celes when he got his, they would probably have taken a few more years to perfect it and then try it out on her.

I think that Jim Carrey would be a good Kefka biggrin.gif , but I think Relm would be the hardest character to find an actress for her, I noticed in some of the polls that Robin Williams was suggested for quite a lot of actors, but I know he would be a good Gau!

I don't think Gau's that old either, which is why I doubt Robin Williams would work. Now if we could find a good male preteen actor for Gau, and a young female 10-year-old-or-so for Relm...

Wow, thats really cool, considering im an aspiring Director/Writer. Well lets see here, who would I cast. Oh and not to be a mean buttock, but if Leo Decrapio were in the movie it would totally desecrate, and desanctify the world Final Fantasy.

Heres the Cast List
Terra - Christina Ricci (I read that above, genius, she is so good at looking emotionless.)
Locke - Jason Lee, the guy from Mallrats, he played Brodie.
Edgar- Ryan Phillipe i think its spelled (He played in Cruel Intentions as Sebastion, and in Anti-Trust as Milo)
Sabin- Sean William Scott (If he buffened up)
Shadow- Jet Lee, i like that mention.
Cyan- Russel Crowe
Banon- Patrick Stuart
Gestahl- Sean Connery
Kefka- Robert Englund, he played as Freddy Krueger and that care scares the crap outta me.
Celes- Sharon Stone, too old? Maybe Kate Hudson.
Relm- Well... Really cant think of anybody.
Strago- The Guy who played as Gandolf, and Magneto.
Setzer- Definately Edward Norton
Umaro - Will Farrel... Will "FREAKING" Farrel, i mean look at the man, he's an ape, throw on some make up and we got Umaro. Or maybe he can just be completely CG who knows.

Oh, and by the way, i used to work at a video store, thats why i know all these seemingly unknown people.

Gau as Robin Williams was a joke! But I think the guy who played Gandalf in Lord of the Rings would be a good Strago!

Orlando Bloom as Egdar that would not be a good idea. Arnold Schwarzanegger as Sabin would be awful laugh.gif . Danny DeVito as Mog would probaly be funny.Daveigh Chase would be a good Relm though.

happy.gif Strago is funny. Admittedly, Christopher Lee is a good actor but I could never see him being a comical person.

Christopher Lee may not be funny, but Christopher Lloyd is! I.e. the old man from the Back to the Future movies. is he still alive? he'd be a good Strago.

I could totally see Seann William Scott as Sabin, if he buffed up. he's got the carefree nature, and he knows the stunts too - he just starred in Bulletproof Monk!

Christopher Lloyd would be a good Strago, I think it would be a good idea as well.
