I dunno how many of you are fans of his work, but yesterday, Mitch Hedberg died at age 37. I will always remember him as one of the greatest comedians of our time, and personally I rank him up with the big ones like Carlin and Pryor. He never got huge, but I think given time he would have become something much bigger. I will always remember his great stand up and laid back hippy attitude.

That really sucks, I've been a fan of his for several years now and this was most unexpected. I'm sure there will be rumours that he died of an overdose, and he may have, but I'll wait for the coroners report before I pass judgement. I wouldn't place him in the same category as Pryor or Carlin, but the dude was without a doubt extremely funny. This really sucks.

I saw him once on Comedy Central and he was pretty funny although I don't really like comedians that are pretty emotionless. I prefer the ones who are loud and obnoxious, but it is sad to see that he is dead and died young.

My god, I didn't even know until I saw this post. I loved that guy's stand-up routines. Man, this guy was a rising star and the website up there even says that he was supposed to be the "next Jerry Seinfeld" which, by most you know, are some shoes that are practically unfillable.
I really, really, really enjoyed this guy's work. It's sad to see him go so young. ![]() -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Wow, I had no idea.
Though I'm not a diehard fan by any means, I've always enjoyed Hedburg's creative, offbeat jokes and signature deadpan delivery. Stand-up has lost one of its more talented proponents. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Sorry, never heard of him though.

I don't know anyone in The Netherlands who's had heard of him, but:
"Rice is great when you're hungry and want 2,000 of something" "I would imagine if you understood Morse code, a tap dancer would drive you crazy" "When someone hands you a flier, it's like they're saying, 'Here, you throw this away." Those are great jokes. ![]() So I feel sorry for you guys to have lost a good artist. That always sucks greatly. ![]() This post has been edited by DemonSeed on 4th April 2005 02:41 -------------------- |

I was so depressed when I heard this. I had never heard of Mitch at this point last year, but my friends put me up on him, and he turned into one of my favorite comedians overnight. If you haven't heard of him, make an effort to listen to "Mitch All Together." It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
I feel doubly bad for the guy, because he's up in heaven, waiting in line at the pearly gates, probably thinking "I've lived a pretty good life, at least compared to most people." Then he turns around and sees the guy behind him... -------------------- Hip-Hop QOTW: "Yeah, where I'ma start it at, look I'ma part of that Downtown Philly where it's realer than a heart attack It wasn't really that ill until the start of crack Now it's a body caught every night on the Almanac" "Game Theory" The Roots |
