I'm telling you about how to get Sephiroth's sword. I found this cheat on cheatcodepost.com. Hope this helps you out. (FFVII)
sephiroths sword and the fifth weapon
go to the speed square in the gold saucer.there you may win masamune blade. But you also have to beat all the weapons(including the fifth one). The only way you can find the fifth weapon is to master every single materia in the game(which is really frickin' hard)Once you do this go and snag a mythryl from the snoring idiot in the cave near fort condor.to do so you must battle until he says that you've fought #xxx amount of times(for example 2444 or 1999 or anything as long as it includes the last three numbers becoming the same). then take masamune blade and some mythryl to the guy in the house across the river from the gold saucer and right next to the ocean. he'll make the sword but at first the only on who can use it is vincent. but after a while the sword will break when this happens get more mythryl and go straight to the guy who made the sword and he'll make it to where cloud may use it too.but if vincent uses it it will also fire like a gun or slash. But the reason for this is the sword look's more like a gunblade (from ff8) more than it does a masamune(the rarest samurai sword known to man or final fantasy).well that's it oh and your welcome.

That sounds....a little far-fetched in my oppinion. This is an interesting theory, but I'm not sure whether or not I should beleive it. If you try this and actually get it to work for you, then please tell me. I've always wanted the Masamune, so if there's some odd glitch in the game for getting it, let me know. Until then, you should probably check your sources. Make sure that you didn't get this from a "Rumors" section in a website, because those rumors are almost always false.

I think it's just an attempt to make FFVII have as many General Leo rumours as FFVI.

I love that sword! It is so cool! But I don't love it enough to master all of the materia in the game, even if I did believe this rumour was true.

I wouldn't mind seeing a screen shot of Cloud with the sword though. And even of Vincent with the 'Gunblade'.

...And a fifth weapon? There were already five if I'm not mistaken. Sounds like someone made this up on the spot.

That wouldn't even be necessary as a Game Shark or other game code-hacking program could simply dissect the game's coding and unlock any such weapon if it was present. It isn't.

This rumor is simply another to add to the ever-growing heap of bullshit concerning Final Fantasy VII. People really should give up on this sort of thing in an age of Game Sharks.

I think so, Racthoh. But, it would be a whole lot better if you mastered it all and get it done and over with. I am going to try to get Sephiroth's sword, but if it doesn't work well then I'll find out it was all a waste of time. I'll contact you if it does work for me on getting Sephiroth's sword. All right?
