Evidently I did this pic on the night of 3/15/05 because I did the coloured version the next day (the file date). I was being weird that night in my sketches and did a very spontaneous Mag. She took less than 5 minutes to draw. I think of that 5 minutes, a lot of the time was spent colouring in her mouth, and trying to get that certain look for the teeth. I think I acomplished my goal of making her freaky looking (as well as disconcerting).
When colouring her, I tried to stay very true to the original colours in her costume. The CG slap of paint I gave her took about as long as it took to draw. This pic is sort of a quasi-selfportrait. Scary, when you think about it. I was feeling awfully crazy at the time, and it reflects. Title: "Smile! - Mag" Media: Pen y CG Randomacy: "Tu madre me dijo, 'mi hijo es un graaaaaaande lingote perezoso'" or "Votre maman dite à moi, 'mon fils est un lingot paresseux'" or possibly even "Uw moeder zei aan me, 'Mijn zoon is een luie naaktslak'". (thanx to babelfish for the last one!) Attached Image ![]() -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." That's one freaky-looking Mag/Cindy, so I think you accomplished what you were goin' for quite well. Course, you stuck in that "quasi-selfportrait" comment, so I don't know if what I just said is positive or not.
![]() The coloring's always my favorite part of your pieces, and I absolutely love her expression and pose. Very fitting. ![]() -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. ...Wow...
Thats just freaky. I think what you did with the teeth and eyes really helped accomplish what you were going for. The shading on her arms and legs is nice. This post has been edited by Rujuken on 29th March 2005 08:40 -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Quote (Rujuken @ 29th March 2005 00:40) ...Wow... Thats just freaky. I think what you did with the teeth and eyes really helped accomplish what you were going for. The shading on her arms and legs is nice. The shading was really easy to achieve. All I did was get the darker blue colour and then go over the areas I wanted shading with the airbrush (set on 'color burn' or something like that). Before that, I just paintbucketed everything. The eyes I thought showed through the most subtlely. I purposefully made the irises off from each by just a tiny bit giving her more of a crazed look. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes."
