Hey ive been trying for the last 3 days to get this friggin game to give me either a green or blue FEMALE chocobo. Ive logged an additional 12 hours at this and im starting to get frustrated. Ive beaten the game on a multitude of occasions. However this is the first time ive tried the chocobo side quest. If there is something im missing please any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, im not sure that it matters but this sites walkthrough (ff7) is reveresed on breeding of the chocobos, but ive noticed that it doesnt matter which is the great and which is the good, ive gotten blue and green from the same parents, just all males

FYI I mean all chocobos i breed are males, Yellow blue and green, every attempt i have made to get a female has failed.

As far as I am aware, the result is totally random as to the gender of the chocobo. It sounds like you are just suffering from bad luck. I'm afraid the only real advice I can give you is try, try, and try again.

Luckily, someone else may know better but all I know is, random is the chocobo's gender.

I have just signed up for these forums, and having been upset over the friggin game, i was a little short, i do apologize however. I had yet to read the rules, in other forums double posting is not that much of a crime, it will not happen again, unless this is considered double posting but from what i have read i dont think it is

The best thing to do is save before you breed. if you do not get the chocobo you want reset and try again because the game randomises this will greatly help your quest to get that elusive gold chocobo.

I should have been more specific, that is how i've been attempting the breeding. (saving and resetting) And its not totally random, from what ive experienced. If i breed them on an odd minute (in total game time) i get a green, if it's an even minute I get a blue. But always male

Thanks everyone for all the input, ive gotten the damn thing now, got bored withthe resetting so i went and killed weapon and subsequently the ancient forest sidequest, when i was done went back to chocobo farm saved and tried anew. UGH I hate chocobos, i just want the materia <<--makings of a good quote . . . . . .
