Returners
Imperial empire

Monsters of WoB

I picked WoB beucase theres a lot more non 16 party action and more people to pick from XD

Well I never played warcraft, for that matter warcraft 3 so maybe you can be more specific? Besides this is a section for JUST FFVI and not warcraft. If you want to talk about other games do it in the General Game forum.

It's not about WC 3. It's about a FF VI map made using WC 3. It sounds cool to me. When you finish it I'd like to have it.

Returners - Human
Empire - Orc
Espers - Night Elf
Monsters - Undead

For big guys, use some neutral units instead of the orc ones, hard to find appropriate ones for kefka and what not, but do the best you can wink.gif

In my opinion, it would be a good idea to make use of the advanced options the world editor has. Instead of giving the races ordinary units, edit their properties using the unit editor, and certainly change their names. Make good use of the trigger editor. With this you can give your units new abilities, different from those already presented in the original game. Remember, many people play custom maps to take a break from the original game's units and style. Giving them new units to choose from in your map would be a good idea. I'd personally find it quite monotonous if races were just issued to the FFVI factions, for example throwing the Imperials with the undead just because they're both evil. So, instead of issuing them with original races, I recommend creating new ones using the editor, which allows you to edit things like unit properties, buildings and upgrades - basically just about anything you want to change.

I think this is a really interesting idea, and upon its release, I'll certainly give the map a try. smile.gif

Actually I think there already is a map like that, but it mixes several of the FFs,6-X I think. You choose a hero from one of the games and level them up plus you can actually save your character and load it next time you play. Although I haven't played WC3 in about 5 months (mostly Halo2). So if its something like ONLY FF6 you might have to make it yourself.

I've played that map once and it sounds nothing like this one. That one is more of a 1 player rpg attempt. This one sounds like a free for all map.

This could be like a Defense of the Ancients type game that's always played in WC3 multiplayer, where it's like a big tug-of-war with normal enemies pouring from their bases to fight each other and attempt to kill the other side's base, and you use heroes to try to sway the battle your way.

Or, if you had tons of time and were really skilled with the map-maker, you could make an extensive RPG map where you try your best to emulate Final Fantasy VI. Jaina Proudmoore could be Celes, Edgar could be the human Arthas, Locke could be the Uther Lightbringer guy (or Strago), Kefka could be Archimonde, Terra could be a Dryad or something, and Sabin could be one of those big bad Mountain Giants! It would look pretty cool too to use the undead's blight for the World of Ruin in areas, if you choose to include that.

If you really want to bring that random encounter type style to a game, it'd be cool to put in the map various units all around in many locations, and make them patrol the map. With good use of terrain editing making the map having few wide open areas, this could be done. But you would not be able to fight the units in the world map, making everything invulnerable. To fight these monsters, you'd have to collide with them.

Then, you could create a tiny little battleground in a corner of the map, where your "random encounter" battle would actually take place. For instance, every time you ran into a Ghoul patrolling the map, your character or group of characters would be transported into the battleground area, and a set of monsters would spawn (depending on the type of unit you encountered on the world map, you could make various sets of monsters that would spawn in the battleground). I just think it would be a really neat idea, and if I had the ability to make a map like that in WC3, I would've done it. If you think this would be a neat idea and want me to elaborate on it, I'd be more than happy to.

This sounds awesome, and i would definately try it on its announced arrival to WC3.

Maybe you could put in the big characters (AKa:paladin=Leo or lich=Kefka)as the main characters in ff6.Like the wizard on horseback could be Strago?? sleep.gif

I dunno. sounds cool, but ya' gotta experament like a crazy jumping scientist thumbup.gif

It would take a while to make a good Final Fantasy III map for Warcraft, but well worth it. If i hear good reviews on it, i might install Warcraft jsut to play it happy.gif
