This sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. The five questions thing reminds me of the Ultima series (anyone ever play it?). You would answer questions and it determined the path you would lead based on your responses.

My inspiration for asking the questions in character sign up is actually derived from the old SNES game, Ogre Battle.

Did I read Ogre Battle ?? I love that game.

How easy would it be for me to 'skip time' in this sim? By that I mean, say I'm busy for a while, and decide to be inactive for, say, a few weeks. What happens then?

What happens then? Nothing wrong with that. If you are in a kingdom, it would be courteous to let your ruler know that you'll be gone by posting in the "Absent/Back" thread. But skipping time when real life stuff comes up is perfectly normal and will happen to just about every player once in a while. So yeah. It's fine. |

I'm really not much of an RP-er, I've never found one that's managed to catch my attention and keep me hooked for more than a month or two, but you guys have defintaly flared up my curiosity. I'm giving signing up some serious thought, but so far, it looks like I'm going to go for it.
It seems like there's quite a bit of things to learn before I jump in the pool so to speak, but I've got tons of free time for that anyways. It's definately a creative way of extending FFT. I'm looking forward to the launch-date to see how it all goes. Good-luck with all that.  -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

ummm well i just tried to sign in and i got an email requesting my parents permission... what if im... say... living in an apartment
 what am i suppose to do about that? and isnt there a way i can just sign up without having to print something and mail it? or is that for everyone because secondly my printer is out and i really want to play  Edit:OH NO!!! AND I ACCIDENTLY PUT MYSELF TO UNDER 13 YEARS OLD!!! AHHHHHHHHHH! I just signed up and started to create my character, just waiting for the administrators to finalize. After looking around it looks great and alot of fun so I am looking forward to it and recommend it to everyone.

Aye, me as well. It's a bit complex, but oddly easy to get into. Not too many text rpgs have caught my fancy, but this is one I would recommend to any Tactics fan (or even just a general FF gamer)

Well, long time since this topic saw some attention. I'm posting here for a reason. Also an Administrator of Heroes of Ivalice, and, on that note The game restarted as of today, to be specific, only ten hours ago. So if you were interested in playing the first time around, or perhaps are a past one who faded off, or even a new person reading it, it might be worthwhile to make another trip. The domain has changed now to www.heroesofivalice.com after the excellent showing we had for the first game.
