What's your favorite game glitches?
for me, my favorite glitched game is Pokemon Red and Blue! it has 3 great glitches of all gaming history. such as meeting missingno and using it to get more items. and all those over Level 100 Pokemon gives great training. and having the fact that you can catch any pokemon, even "uncatchables" like mew. so, what's you favorite glitches? |

I think I'll go with the Sketch Bug in FF6 for 100, Bob. Some funny stuff there.
![]() Wait, actually, I take that back: the most hilarious glitch I've ever seen is this one in Deus Ex I discovered myself just a few days ago, where you set cheats to enabled, then spawn a copy of yourself using the code "summon jcdentonmale", then initiate a conversation nearby with someone who has one of those cut conversations (like, say, Jaime Reyes after the first mission, but it prob'ly works with any character in general). They'll talk to the clone... not you! ![]() It's even more hilarious when you spawn a clone of yourself in front of an enemy, then watch them attack the clone until it dies! Arr, I love that PKMN glitch to get level 100 Teams. Also the FF7 max out items glitch rocked (100 Megalixers, stardust, X-Potions...). That is it for me. BTW, how do you cloak a zergling and hydralisk?

I usualy try to avoid majoir glitches for fear that I will kill my games dead, but I do like to take advantage of the poor graphics on LOZ, OOT. Namely making a two headed Epona, and placing Link halfway through a wall. I don't know if you'd count this as a glitch, or bad planning on Nintendo's behalf, but there's a way of beating the Giant Mechanical Bull thing in Majora's mask that is so ridiculously easy It's laughable. Just hide in the entrance alcove and snipe the bugger with Flame Arrows every time he goes by.

There are too many fun glitches to list just one. MissingNo. from Pokemon Red/Blue is one of my favorites. Also there's tons of fun stuff you could do in that game anyway, like making Fushia City a glitchheap.
Some of the "Secret Worlds" in Metroid 2 are nice as well. I'm not sure if this counts, but using Gameshark to walk through walls in Link's Awakening is a fun thing to do. One particular thing that sticks out of my memory is walking into a non-existant room and finding a boss battle. Instead of the "Rawr Me Kill You ect" message, it displayed the "You got the Compass!" speech. |

Am I the only one who likes FF6's evade/mblock bug?
Another cool glitch is in the first Megaman game, with the Elec-beam and pausing and unpausing rapidly to make it hit more. I'm going to go old school here and mention the glitches without the hitches: blockiness. Remember Galaga or Defender and something went off and instead of ships you had fat bricks and garbled gunk? The NES even had those graphical glitches, sometimes it just looked plain awesome, like a whole different game. Ah, the joys of dust. A bit of a shame you don't get those with discs.
That MissingNo. glitch is another favorite of mine. I actually spent hours in the hall of fame just to listen to randomized made-up pokemon sounds and sprites. Some of the noises were downright creepy and long enough to be music. |

psycho cyan is pretty fun in ff6
in morrowind the bind weapon spell can be used to get weapon skills insanely high, my warrior had 864 axe skill at level 1 edit: just something I want to mention; I was in the phoenix cave going to get loke in ff6 fighting two of those undead things and two floating head things. Near the end of the battle I used palidor with shadow and something gave him zombie status. Zombie shadow jumped alone and never came down. On the last enemy, one of those floating heads, I noticed physical attacks did nothing at all, no numbers showed up and when scanned it did 0. Everytime I used a physical attack the non-existant shadow would counter attack my team, he was invisble, only his knife would show up and he was untargetable. Also his weapon showed up in the middle of the screen when he countered. Saddly it was on my snes so no save state. This post has been edited by whocares on 22nd December 2004 06:32 |

Coolest glitch, but it serves no purpose: the Mario 64 edge drop-off glitch thing.
Some may not remember this, but in SM64, sometimes when you jump onto the very edge of a ledge, you'll bounce around a bit real quick and the camera jerks around. It's pretty funny, albeit annoying at times. -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I miss you all now that I'm in boarding school! ;_; |

Quote (Blythe @ 6th December 2004 17:08) probely cloak a Zergling or Hydralisk in Starcraft l I'm going to have to concur with this one. Starcraft is one of the few games I've played where I can remember the glitches being supremely amusing and worthy of spending several game hours exploring and abusing, particularly the ones involving floating drones and cloaked zerglings. |

Speaking of Mario64, Another cool one was getting 120 stars and falling into the area behind the castle door on the outisde. I always do it for some reason. its awesome being behind the door.

I was a big fan of getting lots of master balls in pokemon. Simple one, but you couldn't fault catching everything that you wanted right off the bat.

Whenever you'd switch screens, you could hit select (IIRC) mid-movement and teleport to the other side of the next screen. Often allowing you to do some iffy sequence-breaking. The Longest Drop in Super Mario Sunshine is one of my favourites. Did nothing gameplay-wise, but was fun to watch. IIRC, it involved getting Yoshi on Gelato Beach and spraying and ground pounding a plant. You were launched into the air, the drop lasting from a few seconds to two hours! ...In fact, I'm doing it right now.

The w-item glitch was my favorite one. 99 megaelixirs rock!
Another glitch I liked was the JP glitch in Tactics, although I never used it (it's so cheap it's almost like it's cheating). -------------------- Music is a mysterious thing... My favorite game glitch would have to be back in one of the old prior-to-patch glitches in StarCraft that could allow you to command a drone to build a hatchery ANYWHERE on the map instantly without it having to even move at all. What's so good about it? Not only could you do it at the enemy base, you could do it right beneath their command center/nexus/hatchery and they won't even notice until it's complete. And they'd only notice if they're Terran or Protoss because the purple creep will start emerging out of their starting building.
This glitch was almost equally fun to do with Terrans because it allowed them to build to any location which made them essentially flying units, skipping over rivers, terrain, and buildings as it goes to the destination to build the building. Therefore, you could fly right over an opponen't base and scout it. Honorable mention goes to being able to cloak any burrowed unit permanently if they are burrowed at the right moment when an allied arbiter (or your own if its possible to have an arbiter in your zerg base) brings its cloak field to the target. Another honorable mention goes to the old ability to lift a terran building, land the building, and as it lands, put a siege tank under it and press siege mode. You then had a tank that was impervious to melee attacks. Of course, it doesn't do this now, it instead destroys the tank. ![]() This post has been edited by TheEvilEye on 19th January 2005 20:09 |

If you can realy call it a "glitch", I like how in "Super Mario World" you could kick the koopa shells to go into the walls. I have no idea why anymore but me and a friend of mine used to laugh so hard at this. Also, it is the only one I know of that realy doesn't feel like cheating because it's 100% pointless. Well, there is one other but it is just that "climb a tree" bug in the original Pokémon games and I never realy liked that one . . . So in short, koopa shells + walls = funny / wtf? .

Quote (Blythe @ 19th January 2005 12:02) in the PC version of ff7 instead of duplicating you lost an item ![]() I have the PC version and I successfully duplicated. I mainly duplicated Hypers because I was too lazy to go grab them at the store. I already had plenty of mega-elixers, elixers, and x-potions. Lessee.. the Final Fantasy II (US) duplication technique was awesome. Take a character, empty both of hands. Then tell him/her to equip an "empty slot" in the inventory. Immediately afterwards, go equip weapon or shield. Suddenly, you just equipped TWO of them. Unequip it, re-equip and you got an extra on in your inventory. Or something like that.. been a while since I played that game. Sucks how you guys could glitch your FF3 cartridges... my cartridge is evidently the latter "unglitchable" one. Oh, and evidently in Soul Calibur II, I was fooling around with Xianghua and ended up hitting someone high and low at the same time. Basically unblockable. In an old old pinball game for the PC called Android, I somehow got the ball stuck into onto of the numbers, so it would bump around inside endlessly. The points I was getting was outrageous, but it was then impossible to win the game, or to even sink your own ball. This post has been edited by RoyalKnight on 3rd February 2005 16:15 |

Wow, awesome glitches guys. My favorite is from an ancient 3D PC racing game called "Stunts 4D Driving" or something like that (one of those games almost nobody has ever played). In 1v1 races versus the computer, if the computer racer crashes and you drive up to the wreck and bump it, your car goes flying in any number of directions, often going straight up in the air for what looks like a mile high while you face towards the ground watching the whole track go by below. Then eventually the car falls to the ground and blows up.

Mario for NES, i think its the 3rd world, jump on the koopa near the steps at the end of the stage and jump on its shell, this gives you basicly infinite lives. ahh the good old days of nes....
