There is a Cid in every Final Fantasy game and I like all of them. But this Cid is second best to the one in Final Fantasy IV. Although this one has a cigar and the coolest Airship.

My list-
1. Cait Sith: He reminds me of Gogo in that he is a truly offbeat character. My first playthrough he seemed cutely enigmatic...and handy with magic, turned him into something of a blue mage/mime. I guess I also like him 'cuz no one else does... 2. Vincent: I like his character design and he is very handy with magic. He made it into my final squad. 3. Cid: I liked him for his naughty language and he smokes, and we all know that only cool people smoke  4. Barret: He reminds me of Mr.T (which I'm sure was somewhat intentional) and I like Mr. T 5. Nanaki: Dunno why...he's an animal... 6.Cloud, Tifa, Yufie, Aeris they are all pretty interchangeable to me... I picked Yuffie because she's the Original Crazy Girly Chick! I mean Selphie, Rikku are all just rip offs of you know who---->> Yuffie<< So I had to pick her besides she' a little Evil and I like a little bit of Evil, also Tiff and Red are like my second best, infact there are fighting over who's best at this Minute!

I love Cloud. Dearly. The poor kid's been through a heck of a lot, and I think his backstory is fascinating and heartbreaking. I dislike the common opinion that he's cold, emotionless, etc, since that's all before he finds out the truth about himself. And really, it's just the first few hours of the game that he acts like that. Essential word "acts," since he's literally trying to act the role of "badass mercenary" when he's really ""scared 17-year-old-mental-patient." Hmm...my top five would have to be...
1. Reno: He's sooo cool with that messy red ponytail of his...He's cocky (just look at that screenshot of Advent Children--you know which one I'm talking about ) ...Need I say more?2. Tseng: Although Possible spoilers: highlight to view and you don't learn much about him, from what I've deciphered using my...deciphering skills, he's elegant (not in a weird way), he's cool, sophisticated...he dies early on in the game, 3. Rufus: He's Possible spoilers: highlight to view for one...he's got that cool shotgun, and his overall demeanor is appealing...ironic, eh?the President of Shinra 4. Sephiroth: Yes, poor Sephy (Sephiroth: Don't call me 'Sephy'!) used to be my favorite. Then I played through the game again, being careful to watch the other characters' personalities and all. So Sephy (Sephiroth: DON'T call me 'Sephy'!) has dropped to fourth, behind two Turks and a Possible spoilers: highlight to view .President 5. Vincent: He's quiet (like me), depressed (kinda like me), and loves to sleep (definitely like me). He's really cool (hmm...definitely NOT like me)...er...his bangs are neat! There ya have it. Guess after Vincent, I like Yuffie. I think I have a weird bad-guy pattern going on here. Reno and Tseng are Turks, Possible spoilers: highlight to view Rufus is a President, Sephiroth is hell-bent on destroying the world, Vincent didn't actually do anything wrong but thinks he did, and Yuffie steals everyone's Materia. |

Sorry if this type of poll has been posted heaps, but i was just interested in seing who everyone thinks the best character is. My guess is that most of ya will say Cloud, but i could be wrong.
I think Red is the best, what can be kewler than a talking wolf with a flame tail? He's got some diecent limits, and is fairly strong. Right after Red, i'de say Vincent. Vincent is my favorite, he seems so full of secrets, and his very inteligent too. His outfit is awesome and his lines are the best in the game.

I'd have to say Tifa. Besides her being the most attractice video game character, i liked her personality the most. She was a normal gal amongst a bunch of crazy characters. Plus she reminds me of my gf!

Vincent, his role explains it
Possible spoilers: highlight to view -Unrequited Love from Lucerenia. -His sin for not ending Septiroth cause Hojo shot him and he was incapable of doing anything. -How he knows way too much yet doesn't say much (especially in AC). -His importance in Advent Children. -Main Character in FF VII DoC. I also give Cloud second cause of his personality Possible spoilers: highlight to view -He is rather troubled, weak, and easily manipulated until he finally gains confidence. -Although he is regarded as the hero in FF, he would be more of a Tragic Hero cause of his major flaw (his weak and troubled past/mind). -His mistake, how he hates himself for Aeris' death until he feels that he is forgiven in AC and it was not his fault that Aeris dies infront of him. You could read between the lines, and actually gain the spoils of how good of a story FF VII is. -------------------- Who is Byblos? |

For me it's a virtual tie between vincent and cid.
vincent has the mysterious-ness and the tragic past. plus, since i played DoC before FFVII, i had already gotten to know quite a bit about him. in battle, the range is nice. plus, his ultimate weapon, death penalty, is my namesake who doesn't like a badass chain smoker? well, maybe not so much the chain smoker part, but it's a perk. lances... not that amazing in my book, but one of my favorite characters, kain, was a dragoon too. in the end, i have to go with vincent. his backstory is just too touching. Plus I like how he got screwed over by Hojo and gets his revenge later (if he's in the party). But Cid was freakin' awesome. I remember the night I was playing and first got to Rocket Town.
