I've been debating with myself on this, but at a nearby Game Crazy they have FF Tactics for about $10, it's used, not in the original case and no manual. I've been kind of skeptic as to if I should get it or not, so what I wanna know is should I get it? I've heard it's kinda complicated and since it has no manual I'm not sure if I'll be completely lost. And by some of the screenshots I've kinda noticed it looks like La Pucelle Tactics, is it in anyway remotely like it or is it just fieldwise, so should I?

I didn't read the manual until long after I got the game.
There is an in-game tutorial, and the manual doesn't cover everything in the tutorials.

For 10 bucks, heck yeah. It's a great game and though similar to standard FF RPGs, it's got some interesting wrinkles, and more replay value by far. Don't be worried about the lack of a manual, there's extensive in-game tutorials and you can bring up a help dialogue on any item, enemy, skill, number or abbreviation in the game. Easy to learn, difficult to master.

Get it get it get it get it get it! I never had a manual either, and I did just fine. Plus, that game is more than worth the $10. Even if the disk happens to be scratched, which it may well be, there are ways to fix that. GET IT!

No manual? No problem! You can hit the select button on practically ANYTHING within the game to get a detailed description of it. I say get it.

FFT is near perfect. Finding a game that good that cheap is, well, insane.
Buy it, and don't think twice.

It is a good idea. I bought mine without the manual for 25$ off ebay.

It's a good deal.

Ah music to my ears, I probably use the Select button more than the X button, well I'm gonna be passing by there today, so I'll see if it's in my budget and I'll update.

Best Game Ever!

It's really not hard once you get past the tutorial. And, it's flippin' good! So, enjoy this game my friend. You'll be hard-pressed to find one better.

Boy, I'd have to be crazy to not get the game now. I'm gonna have to wait a little longer though, didn't have enough cash to get it yesterday (yes I know, I'm poor)

The funny thing is that you can probably pick up a new version at EB or Best Buy for fifteen bucks. But, like practically everyone said, the manual isn't needed to play the game correctly; it's there so you can say you have it.

Hopefully the used game you're going to pick up is in fairly good condition. FFT has been known to glitch in odd places when it's disc is heavily scratched up.

2 hours into the game (barely started earlier, I was at my friends' yesterday) and I am officially hooked on it, and I'm amazed that the game is in near mint condition, no smudges or anything.

The first chapter can usually be the hardest on account of learning the workings and systems, but if you can make it through that phase, the rest of the game should catch on quickly. Maybe not difficulty-wise, but you'll have the essentials down.

Don't forget to run through the tutorial if you have any problems. You'd be surprised at how overlooked it is.

Damn, the last 3 hours just flew right by. I basically know all the bells and whistles of the game right now, having played La Pucelle Tactics I was already familiar with the battle scheme (more or less), and I pretty much have the whole Job and Ability Learning/Equiping figured out. Now the last two hours I just spent getting gil, buying new equipment and items, leveling up everyone, learning new abilities and experimenting with jobs, since I kept getting slaughtered at the city slums (I already forgot the name of it).

It takes sometime to fully understand the game when you play it for first time, a good tip: check the tutorial after first chapter, It works for me also push all buttons to see what they do in battle, like triangle, start, blah blah, but the MOST important thing is to have an alternative record on your memory card, earlier in the game, just in case.. thumbup.gif

You should master out the Squire class because it has good abilities, like Gained JP UP, Move +1, and Counter Tackle. In Chapter 1, they're really useful.

Even though it is 10 bucks, I wouldn't, look at a pawn shop or somthing for it, it will probably be the same price and be in better condition, like in original case and have the manual.
