How could you leave out Fatal Frame!?

That game is by far the scariest game I have ever played. At one point it literally made me drop my controller and dash out of my room squeelin' like a girl (no offense to girls thats just what I sounded like).

I agree with you--Fatal Frame is way scarier than Silent Hill, which I voted for. I can finish the Silent Hill games. I can't play Fatal Frame long enough to accomplish anything before I have to turn it off or have a heart attack.

I'd have to say Eternal Darkness, Sanity's Requeim... I think that's what it's called. It's the one where you slowly start going crazy, and you begin to see visions of yourself dying and the house begins to do freaky things. I only played it once, but once was enough.

To be honest, I haven't played that many "scary" games, but I have played Metroid series games. Super Metroid--with all its weird and freaky plot turns (such as, at the beginning, the statue coming alive)--scared the crap out of me when I first played it, and nearly gave me nightmares. Later, Metroid Fusion was to follow a similar path, as when I first played it, I used an emulator that for some reason ("unsupported BIOS function") couldn't play the music. So with merely static in the background, and a violent, freakily frightful SA-X stalking me, and finally with my failure to outrun it time and time again (just after you find the reactor core) and playing it from about 1-4 AM, the only way I could sleep was because I was so tired. But man, those two games are freaky. (They're two of the greatest games ever made, too.)
