Hmm...
Atma Weapon was awesome... scared the living, uhhh... waste product, out of me when I first heard it. Probably then first half of the ending, when you hear the medley of all the characters' themes. |

the music is definitely one of the many high points of this game. i'm fond of Figaro's Theme, WoR field music [after you get the airship], the cave music, Cyan's, Gau's, and Shadow's theme. My favorite though is the theme from Kefka's Tower. It had a techno-ish feel to it and it sounded really cool.

I really love Terra's and Atma's themes. they both kick serious booty. The Magi Tower music is cool too, as is Doma Kastle's. I also like the Serpent Trench song, and the plain ol' boss music...AAAAUUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!!! TOO MANY CHOISES!!!!!
![]() But seriously, though, I gotta say my personal favorite is the basic Final Fantasy theme. You know, the one song that can be found somewhere in EVERY Final Fantasy? The rendition from FFVII was my favorite version of that song, though. -------------------- *END TRANSMISSION* |

The game is filled with fantastic music. I like the Atma Weapon theme, which is a popular choice with good reason. I also like the Figaro castle theme and the WoR overworld theme.
However, there are two tracks that clearly stand above the rest in my mind. One is the beautiful Opening Theme, which plays during the opening credits and on the world map in the WoB, and the other is the epic that plays during the final battles atop Kefka's Tower. Those two tracks best exemplify what the game is about, in my opinion. -------------------- Always hopeful, yet discontent; he knows changes aren't permanent -- But change is! |

In FFVI, my favorite piece of music is definitely 'Searching Friends'(becomes WoR overworld theme after you get the Falcon) because it gives me crazy goosebumps when it first comes on. Just one of those odd things I cannot explain.
A very close tie is actually the Prelude. FFVI's version of it is without a doubt the best of all the FF's and I wish it would return on a later FF to keep them somewhat unified in song. -------------------- "If it is weak, either kill it or ignore it. Anything else honors it." -Kaervek |

Nobuo Uemetsu (I maybe messed up the last name a bit...) is definitely the SECOND best video game composer EVER. I found myself listening to the orchestrated version of the opera house performance for about two weeks straight when I found it online. The best FFvi song though.... I have to go with the ending theme. I'm an orchestra dork, but something about a good medley really gets me going. I listened to that in its original MIDI form on my old mp3 player and my computer when I was on for quite a while..........

Square could make so much money off of me if they released more FInal Fantasy VI music on CD. I have every CD of FF6 music I know of, at least I will once I get the Piano collection in the mail. I think I'm gonna have to go with the Aria Di Mezzo,

I love the Epitaph music...when you watch the flashbacks of Daryl, ya know? The only song that's gotten to me as much as that is the music that played after Sephiroth sliced n diced u know who in FFVII.

one of my favorite video game pieces of all time is the WoR map theme, "searching for friends". i can play it all on guitar and bass, its just got a really cool feel to it. i also dig the opera theme.

All the great ones have been posted; atma theme, danceing mad, epitaph. But The Prelude stands out above the rest. I know harp players, and they are amazed when I play that song. (On the TV, I don't play harp.)

Hmmm... A lot of people seem to really like "Searching Friends" from the WoR. Am I the only one who likes the WoR music before you get the Falcon? It's so delightfully bleak...

I agree with Divine, the music in "Searching for friends" is very bleak and adds so much more to the story. I really don't like it but it is perfect for the situation.

It is a hard one but I must say that the Kefka music ia the best of the ff6 music.

This a hard one, I mean, I really love all the music in FF6....but I prefer Locke's Theme, Setzer's Theme, Gogo's Theme, Aria di Mezzo Caraterre, Dancing Mad, Gran Finale (not Grand Finale, the last part of the opera), Characters' Medley, and the Blackjack's Theme

"Mines of Narshe" for atmosphere and surrounds, "Troops March On" for the whole "Yeah, we're a military empire" thing, "Wild West" because it's... yeah... wild... and Terra's theme wins totally overall with "Searching for Friends" following up.

As with the many others, I would say: Atma's theme, WoR "Searching for Friends", Cyan's theme, Boss theme, Kefka Boss theme, Wild West, Terra's theme, Locke's theme, all the themes

I am a percussion man so...
Gogo music and Umbro's music sound cool The opera music is spiritual music or whatever so it sounds cool. To say the least, I once re-wrote one of the songs and played it for a concert. It was awsome. -------------------- "The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings." |

This may sound odd but I like the battle music....it seems like it has an adventure theme other then some of the music from the other ones, and it goes along with the flow of fast paced battles. There isnt much rest in the battles and neither is there in the music.
