What controls when Reflect status dissipates?
This is not a trivia question. I do not know the answer. |

I would have thought it would be something similar to the way other status effects go. however, I'm not one to ask as I know nothing on the subject.

As far as I know, it lasts the whole battle. I know dispel gets rid of it because fighting against the White Dragon I'd often use reflect to protect myself from his Pearl spell.

I'm not entirely sure myself either Detah but I always thought that Reflect dissapated on the third turn that the reflected character took. At any rate I was certain that it had something to do with the turns or speed of the reflected character up untill you asked this question. Now I'm begining to doubt that . . .

Reflect, Stop, and Sleep all have their own timers that determine how long the status' last.

I wanted to know how the time length is determined. Is it based on number of spells Reflected? or is it a fixed amount of time (no matter who casts it)? or is it based on level? ??

Reflect, no matter how it is set or by whom, will last for 26 intervals before it is removed automatically. It's the same with Stop (18), Sleep (18) and Freeze (34!).
I seemed to remember that this info was posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it so I pulled it from the code. Should be accurate enough, but I'm pretty tired right now so if anybody wants to correct me, go right ahead. An interval = every time the value of a hypothetical Condemned timer would decrease by one. -------------------- |

I don't know if it's a typo, but that's supposed to be 'Dji'
![]() Which, of course, is far superior to the often found 'Dj', which is slightly more economic yet not quite as awesome. -------------------- |
