What, in your opinion, is the fastest way to unlock a combination job(Samurai, Ninja, Dancer, ect.)? I've got a Bard, but I can't seem to unlock any of the others.

The way I do it is by just simply giving some of my party members the jobs required to unlock and class I want, and before I know it they're at the right levels or higher. If it means using a class I normally wouldn't because they're a bit on the weak side and don't know any useful abilities yet, I just give them the "Item" ability or some white magic and have them hide behind rocks or something and heal every once in a while.

If you're looking to unlock jobs in a hurry, go to Google and do a search for JP Scroll Glitch.

Doesn't that only work for gaining abilities quickly, not for leveling up jobs, or am I thinking of the wrong glitch?

You're absolutely right: the JP scroll glitch doesn't change the amount of earned JP: it merely tweak with the amount of usable JP, resulting in a change in usable JP, the unlocking of every class abilities, or the award of 9999 JP (yes, that is enough, even for the Summoner). Because it doesn't change the total amount of JP you have in the Job, it doesn't change your Job level, and thus doesn't allow you to have access to higher Jobs.

As for unlocking Jobs, it all depends on the level needed: if it's below 300JP, I usually enter a battle with the correct Job equiped, and let the battle follow its course, with maybe a little bit of stalling. If it requires more, then I equip either Punch Art or Basic Skill, and do a Chakra cross formation or a Throw Stone or Accumulate technique.

I have a theory on this. If you want to level up many different jobs on one unit at the same time, switch an ally to the job that you want to level up. It usually (for some reason) will give an ally with the same job JP, thereby raising their levels.

Aw, hell.... I was thinking of mastering jobs... not unlocking them.

From now on.... all of you.... pay attention to nothing I say. Like, ever. tongue.gif

The fastest way to gain jp, and thus get more jobs is to change all the characters in your party to one job. Everyone gets 10% (approximately) of the jp when another character gains jp. Seeing as how 5 characters are simultaneously gaining jp, you can imagine the speed of jp gain, when this method is used. While this may slow the growth of one character, the overall growth is much higher.

Technicaly, this true but it is negligable if you don't know what jobs to train in to unlock more jobs. I think the fastest way to get new jobs is to have everybody train in differnt classes until they unlock another one and switch them over. As for jobs that you already have access to, the way beefbob said is the fastest again. Mainly because you can find out what jobs to train in, in the game that is.

That is true, but with the Internet, how can anyone not find out the job combos?

People who want consider others' work and help cheating might not want to accept it; I know I didn't want anyone guiding me along when I first played. Self-discovery is still the best way I can think of, but having a back-up net on the computer doesn't hurt either.

Fastest way I ever did it was with Ramza always having his special squire abilities set with yell. Once you do yell enough and get his speed up to 50, just throw stones with JP Up set. Or with my knight just doing power break on everything in battle until everyone is doing 1 damage. You might get a few levels in the process as well though heh.

For me, I find the quickest way to building up JP and exp is with two handy Squire skills known as 'Accumulate' and 'Gained JP Up.' For those that don't know, accumulate can be done whenever you dang well please and it increases your physical attack by one. So, whether you're in range or not, you simply use this and get free exp and JP. Then, with gained JP up, the overall JP gain is increased.
Then I just go into battle, get rid of all the monsters but one (which I wound to near death, thus causing it to run and hide in a corner) and just sit there accumulating. True, it's boring and minutely tedius, but it works. And no, this doesn't work with all characters because you don't always go the Squire route, but I at least try and give all my characters those basic skills until they get growing further.
But, one satisfying result of all this accumulating, besides the massive JP and exp. gain, is that when you do decide to go finish the aforementioned beasty, you may be about the level where you do a good, hearty 999 damage, which is always fun to see. True, that won't happen next battle, but it's still fun for the time being lol.

Yes, but the problem is, if you don't have those 2 skills with somebody, they cannot do that. You can do it, however, with protect or shell and JP up.

But, you still need that skill, so I can shoot myself down on that one!!

lol Well, d'uh. You need ANY skill to build a skill lol. I didn't say it was perfect, though, just that it works fairly effeciently. Basically, if one just looks at the skills they have, they can use them in tandem with those of allies and manipulate it. For example, I'd take my Oracle, screw up my fellow's status', take my Monk and Stigma them, then take my other Monk and use recover to give back MP to the Oracle. JP and exp. for all! Monks are really useful for building time mages, white mages and oracles, I must say.

What you should do is get a bard and a dancer (it takes forever, I know, and it really isn't worth it...) and master it. (startin' to really suck isn't it?) Then change to another job and set Sing or Dance as your second ability (what a waste of a secondary ability, right!). Go into a battle and have your dancer master dance and your singer sing himself blue. Have the other three use abilities such as accumulate and shell and protect and such. It is slow, but it will get you all JPed up. biggrin.gif

Even though I haven't yet tried it, I 've just found a way to level up. Someone test it for me and see if it works.

Okay, before you enter a random battle, give all units the Auto-Potion ability. Then, when you're battling, cast Berserk on all party members. Then just leave the game on until all the enemies are dead.
