There were alot of dumb and agrivating (more agrivating than anything) dungeons in alot of RPGs.

-Pheonix Tower, FFV - Like GMH said, 30 floors? What's with that.
(Though, this only ticked me off cause all my chars were near dead with no items by the time I reached floor 20 - 22 and was to stubborn to venture back down.)

-Moria Gallery, Tales of Phantasia - I love the game, great story and characters and themes to match. But this dungeon pisses me off everytime I play the game. Definatly something they should have left out.

-Valentina's Castle, Mario RPG - Once again, another great game with a crappy dungeon (Castle, whatever) throw into it. The traing here was good and there were oppurtunities for a few flower tabs/jars/boxes/whatever but the place was so BORING. And you had that crappy wanna-be mall music playing the whole time.

-Pazuzu's Tower, FFMQ - One of my all time most hated places. The point is chase the boss up and down the tower till you can find the switches to stop his movement. How bloody annoying was that!? The boss of that place wasn't even that aggrivating!

There's plenty more, but I think that's good. ^-^

Amen to the Lufia series (which I love save some of the insane later dungeons... oy... dragon mountain from Lufia II... oy...) and to the Future edition of the Moria Gallery (none of those are dumb per se, just annoying), but I have another to add: Demon Shaft from Dark Cloud. The dungeon crawling in that game is way better in the sequel, so a 100-level randomly generated dungeon with repetitve combat is really not welcome.

Beyond the Beyond had some of the most annoying dungeons. Getting through that game made me want to tear my hair out.

Myself and a friend stayed up playing Sphere 211 in Star Ocean. A great deal of coffee and cigarettes was involved, thats all I can bear to say on the matter...and I got antsy from only Fanatics Tower in FFVI, imagine what an effect "211 floors of fun" had on me.

I'd say all the Pokemon Dungeons couse the music never changes and you get into battles like every 5 steps.

Zubat! Go!

Besides providing an agreement to Zeil's post, I'd like to take an oppurtunity to mention my old friend Unlimited Saga. I would tell you about how bad the dungeons were, but I don't want to force upon you the lost years where you wander the countryside quite insane.

No need to mention Unlimited SaGa, The Ancient. It's a given. In the very back of every person's subconscious, they know the horrors of that game's dungeons but dare not speak its name...

Actually, come to think of it, add the Pokemon caves to my list.

The first RBY cave--Mt. Moon--was especially annoying in a bulbasaur-started game, because the only grass-type move that bulbasaur learns up to that point (unless you take the time to level it up to some level that's way high that early in the game) is vine whip, and that move has only 10 PP. Considering how about 85% of the trainers in that cave come with 2 geodudes or a geodude and an onix, I always have to make 2 trips in that cave because my bulbasaur is running out of vine whips (I escape rope out the first time to that pokemon center at the entrance to the cave).

And yes, every 5 steps you run into a zubat. Not that leech life is dangerous (it's a wussy move anyways, and zubat's special stat is pretty low), but I first mistook zubat for a bug-type because it used leech life (a bug-type move), and then even after I found that out, STILL, leech life is one of those moves whose animation takes too long for the fact that it's repeated so darn often.

That one dungeon in FFIV with Dark Elf where you can't wear metal has annoyed me for years and years. Recently playing the game last month, it's not as bad as I remembered it to be, but still... it's just a pain. By FAR the worst half an hour of the game.

Actually, I thought that was a pretty cool touch. It increased the challenge of the game and forced you to think your way through the dungeon more than by just equipping the strongest stuff and barelling through everything. It was annoying, but a very welcomed change to the typical means of altering a dungeon's challenge (ie, stronger monsters, blah blah blah, etc..)
