***UPDATE: To the sprite artists, please read my next post.***

Hello,
I've gotten a little bored with the old sprites for FFVI after having beaten it some 20+ times, and so I'm editing my game (NOT for a public hack) to change what I spend so much time looking at. I was wondering if anyone's created any interesting sprites for FFVI that they wouldn't mind sharing.
As I mentioned (and some people don't seem to understand tongue.gif ), I'm not doing this to release a hack, as it wouldn't be original and thus, not worth anyone else's time. I simply grow tired of looking at the same sprites all the time, and I'm far from the best at sprite creation, so I'm looking for a generous sprite artist to jazz up my gameplay experience.
Please, only helpful posts for this topic, I'm not looking for flames or discouragement. Thank you very much.

I like making sprites! smile.gif I've never re-done an entire sheet before, but one time I edited a bunch of FF6 sprites to look like the characters in my novel Dark Force.

Not a very good image, but those are the main characters from the novel I wrote for National Novel Writing Month '03. Now that I look at them again though, I realize how close they are to the originals... hmm... I could do better than that.

That's great, Riona! Perhaps we could collaborate and do some more sprite editing/creation? I've done a bit, and I'm not completely incompetant at it, happy.gif so if you like we could work together on some...?
I used to work with RPGM2k3 (google it if you've never heard of it, it's awesome), and I did a lot of sprite-piece mixing and matching. I was working on an interactive novel of sorts in which little Relm is all grown up, and she, Cyan, Gau, Clyde, Edgar, and Sabin were trying to save the world again since the rebirth of magic in the spirit of Locke and Celes' child. The story is from a fanfic I read some 8-9 years ago and LOVED, called "The Last Days" I think. (Sadly, I've not seen it on any site in a very long time. If anyone knows where to find it, please post the link!!) Fortunately, I've got a printed copy of it in a notebook somewhere...
Heh, oh yeah, so I used the sprites for Terra's body and put Relm's head on top and edited the colors, and it looked great. Then I did something similar with Gau's head and Cyan's body, for Gau was then a member of the Marshals, a law enforcement group that Cyan formed in Zozo after the fall of Kefka (in the fanfic, of course). Point being, I've worked with sprites before. smile.gif
<ponders> Hmm... maybe a publicly-available patch IS in order? Hehe, sorry, getting too far ahead of myself. Anyway, whatcha think? Interested in some relaxed (ie, no deadlines, just working on/playing with it when we feel like it) sprite editing and brainstorming?
Or, Riona, if you're not interested, perhaps someone else would be?
...I like sprites... happy.gif

***UPDATE 2***
Well, over the past few days, I've been spending a bit of time after work starting on making Rydia replace Celes in my FFVI rom. I've got the standing, victory, magic, and walking (left or right only) sprites done...Still putting off the creation of brand new sprites for the up & down walking, among others.
