I'm glad to see someone else had trouble with the tentacles. They're also fairly far out from a save point, I realized, when I ran out of potions one time. If only you could break into the castle and rest...oh well.

The first time I faced the Magi Master I think I almost broke something. I couldn't figure out what to do. And I kept running out of magic power. . .but then I discovered osmose (note I was like an ff noob at the time, 6 was the first one I had ever played) and I felt a little better. But I think when talking about the hardest boss we should think about hardest "first time" boss. All of the bosses are not very hard because they all come with a way of defeating them easily. Imagine you knew nothing about any boss, then who's really the hardest? I say Magi Master.

well i'd hav to say magi master because if u dont have life 3 beserk rasp or ultima then ur in trouble. but the eight dragons were a little difficult as well.

None were that bad in particular... but if I had to choose the hardest boss without the knowledge to beat them...Whelk. Otherwise, everyone else was OK. ^^

Dullahan is patheticaly easy - just Wall Ring everyone and have Edgar use Debiliator untill you make Dullahan weak to Ice (Pearl is also usefull). And then just blast him with magic. Peace of cake (and what's more yummy for me about this cake is that I thought this one out myself - while playing Edgar SCC :] I didn't use spells then of course, just waited untill Dullahan wasted all of its mana and finished it off with a few chain saws).

When I played first time (ages ago) I remember having really hard time with the following: Atma Weapon (I went totally unprepared against the whole Floating Continent then... I remember what hell it was, even getting as far as Arma Weapon, and afterwards a difficult even by regular standards boss... Hell, I tell you, hell!), Doom Gaze, the whole final boss, Magi Master, Number 128 for some reason (I don't know why, I mean he's laughable...), Phunbaba (Blow Fish against underleveled characters) and Storm Dragon. Quite a list, but my first try with FFVI was pretty random. I didn't even list Wrexsoul, because I found him invincible (and was pissed off real good, since I had either Cyans dream save, or something 50% of the game ago) untill I tried the X-Zone just for the sake of trying everything out. It worked, I didn't even ask how.

In regular game I think the most dangerous boss (though if you know the game, there is simply no obstacle to hard, even if you're trying not to lvl up too much) isn't even a Boss. I'm thinking about Gigantos - the throat jabing dude. Throat jabs can give hell and he's definately stronger than anything you can bump into during WoB (except Atma, but there are strategies against Atma, and no strategies against him). In WoR... well, actually as long as you prepare to each battle accordingly to what you know will happen, no battle is anything close to difficult. So I'll stick do Gigantos.

True, forgot about him. But then again - he's practicly unbeatable at this point of game, so you either use the doom tactic or do not touch him wink.gif But yeah, if you try to face him without doom, he is definately the most difficult enemy in the game.

Im going to have to agree with "Sabin". FF 6 was bit eazy compared to FF5 and FF4. But thats not to say that it was too eazy. I found the 4 tentical things in the basement of figaro bit difficult.

None of the mentioned bosses are hard.

1) I think the real challenge is the dragon in Mt. Zozo. His magic attacks are extremely powerful for a relatively weak party at that time.

2) Wrexsoul is impossible for me without Vanish-X Zone. How the hell do you beat it????

3) The second battle of the final four battles is rather hard sometimes if you don't keep up with curing.

4) Kefka is a joke.

well he possesses ur character so u hav 2 guess which 1 and kill the character and he reappears

Well, the first time I played through, I got stuck at Vargas pinch.gif I didn't know how to input the Blitz command. I tried about 10 times before i figured out how you do it.

Next time, I got stuck at Ultros/Chupon/the plane thing. I usually either lost against Chupon (beat Ultros) or lost against the plane. I was really underlevelled at the time, about level 18.

Last boss has to be... that one in Cyan's dream... Wrexsoul? Anyway, I didn't know how to beat it at all pinch.gif In the end, I had Terra morph and tried to use 3 Ice Staffs before it could posses anyone. And it worked. Somehow. ^^"

FF6 is easy... I had no trouble with any boss even though I hardly use Espers!

I think Wrexsoul was the hardest. I mean, you had to try and hurt your characters to have him appear. That f***ing coward.

Hardest boss for me isn't up there. It was (on my first time through) the Phantom Train. How was I supposed to know it was undead?

i think the hardest enemy in the game is not a boss. I believe its the brontosaur in the forrest with all the tyranosaurs. Well that is if you do not use the vanish/doom trick. Reason being, he casts ultima alot, and ultima is usually bad when its cast against you

Fighting the magimaster is really pain in the ass...

and you must have life 3 in the end too, when he does that "%&#/()" ultima... pinch.gif

MAGIMASTER omg for gods sakes HES the easiest
all did was give 1 guy palidor (i think palidor , the guy that makes you party jump) and watch him cast fire 3, ice 3, bolt 3, on my guys and have it reflected doing over 5 grand to him, i then scanned his hp and when it was about 500-100 i used palidor an hed get killed an the guys in the air would survive ultima REALLY EASY he only does wall change in response to your elemental magic so dont cast on him rely on your wall rings an he anhilates himself

the hardest boss would be 3 stooges cause i was underleveled and the revived each other (kinda like delta sisters of ff5 they were hard 2)
hardest thing ive fought would be the master pug or brontesourous

i voted Other,
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
and the reply is those 4 tentacles you meet in Figaro while getting edgar in the world of ruin!
I found that they could not entagle people with haste, so i made sure everyone had haste, but still! i couldnt give edgar haste as i had no control over his equipment (there might be some way to do this in combat, i dont know it though) So he would always end up being entangled after a few rounds anyway...

Then i found out they were killable by the Chainsaws ''instant kill'' effect, which made the fight helluva lot easier!

are you sure this post hasnt been made before? its pretty basic tongue.gif

Without Vanish/Doom/X-Zone, the Magic Master is hands down the hardest to defeat for me. The trek up the tower without the Moogle Charm is even more difficult.

However, certain upgraded dragons are proving to be quite a challenge...

ultros was hard for me the first time because my team were weak. i also had to ask about three dozen people how to beat vargas because i was stupid. apart from these just the weird boss at the end of the setzer/daryl thing, the statues and the thing that jumps you in the cave on the veldt . . . . . . in fact i find most bosses hard.

My hardest bosses were Ultros for the first time (I couldn't keep Banon alive!) and Chadarnook. Now, the reason why I had so much trouble with Chadarnook is because I only had three people in my team. I was going to go get Gau and I changed my mind and decided to go explore Owzer's house. Yeah....

I haven't actually finished the game yet so there might be harder bosses to come.

Chadrook (i think thats how you spell it, anyways the painting dude.) i remember spending hours on this boss just trying to get it to change to its other form. At points in the battle he'd change to the girl then immedately chage back to the ape dude as soon as the change was complete, i really dont know why i went to all that trouble honestly.
