I'm sure we all have at least one or two entertaining stories from coliseum battles. I know I personally just had a battle that lasted 5 minutes between celes and hoover. It was seriously cerles using runic followed by sandstorm which was constantly blocked by her 91% m block for 4 1/2 of the 5 minutes, I damn near reset it just because I thought it wouldnt end. The whole time she was at 200 hp and I finally won because hoover decided to cast quake while celes was wearing earth absoring equipment.

This one victory I had over Chupon. Dumb Edgar just wouldn't attack. He cast Stop like four times in a row and Chupon must've attacked at least three times without a sneeze. Finally the moron gave him the deathblow with aura lance, Atma Weapon, offering for the elixir. Best trade for a tonic anyday.

I can't remember who it was against, but I remember the enemy I was fighting could cast ultima. anyway, mog fighting this enemy. mog decides to do a dance (I forget which one) and at generally ended up in stalemate for a bit. enemy casting spells that were absorbed by the shield, attacks doing 2-3 digit damage, whereas 1/4 of the time mog did 2000damage (the rest of the time did useless dance moves.) I thought: "I'm gonna win eventually". little did I know that this enemy could cast ultima. darn.

My most memorable (and frustrating) Colloseum battle would is Didalos. I bet the Ragnarok and made the horrid mistake of sending in Shadow. The bastard had the Striker equipped. As you know, Didalos is undead, and Shadow dispatched it every turn, allowing it to fully revive. Did I mention Shadow didn't know any Magic?

Killing and reviving like this affects the enemy's ATB gauge, so Didalos didn't really get a chance to attack. I eventually had to reset. While I now know of a way to actually exit a battle like that, at the time I thought I was stuck. It lasted for half an hour why I couldn't figure out why the hell Shadow didn't throw any of his Shuriken (which he never will in the Colloseum).
