It's called "Graphic artists being to lazy to invent new weapons". THey used at least 3 of both tidus' and Auron's swods for thebattle weapons, so it's more just them not wanting to make new ones, or them using it for some symbolism in which no one discovered any meaning.

It's not really being lazy, it's more of a gimic. Many of the classes use weapons or even dresses from previous FF games.

I haven't played any game past FF VIII but I can honestly say that Mu's right. Many of the games have crossover weapons, magic and the such. One famous example is the sword known as Excalibur, it has been in tons of Final Fantasy games. Another is the almighty Bahamut who has been in almost every Final Fantasy game. Don't forget Moogle's or Chocobo's either because everybody loves them. Also, have you ever met Wedge, Vicks, Biggs or Cid? I should think so because these people are usualy (but not always) semi-important NPC's. Cameo's and crossovers are just tradition in Final Fantasy games. Now a Final Fantasy game without at least some of these things would be an oddity indeed. Either that or the programer's are just being super lazy

Nothing ever changes. Best weapon is always Excalibur or Ragnarok... or Ultima Weapon, along those lines. Every now and then there is a variation on it.
Summons... haven't changed since what? FFIV? Bahamut is in every game (well, I don't know about legends or adventure). That is why FF is so unique! -------------------- This is my world: (Got my second chapter up, 3rd Chapter about 80% complete) http://www3.sympatico.ca/daniel876/homepage.html |

Quezacotl was only in VIII, how is that an every-game summon? And Bahamut is not in FFXI or FFTA (sadly...) They removed him because they SUCK!!
The only summons to have yet not missed a mainstream game since FFIII (that's the real III people, not VI) are Ifrit and Shiva. And I hope they never do! It is there things that keep all those different styles of FF as one! The things you can see that make you go "Oh! That was in FF#!" FYI: Excalibur was a Warrior skill in FFX-2 along with other classic sword names. -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |
