okay i kinda got this from a FF7 challange i read about but i made a few variations.Fist off you need to complete the game with only useing the equipment that the charector starts out with, no buying new weapons or armor for them. Relics are a big no no any that you recive for doing something just sell. Try to get through the game with as few espers as possible and try doing it in under 40 hours.

I issued this challange to some one who has declined it for certain reasons, i am wondering now if anyone is up to the challange? If you are please record your quest status here at points in the game listed below: The Phantom Train, Lockes scinario, Heading back to narshe,Meeting setzer,The Magi tek Research facility,Vector(after esper attack),The Floating contenet, Edgards scenario(WOR),Setzer scenario(WOR), and Finally Kefkas tower. I am not includeing the other charectors cause

getting back anyone other than celes setzer or edgar is completely optional.

I also tryed to give as much lasp in time as possbile so you dont have to report every second of the game. Hope lots of people will get in on this challange and someone will beable to do it.

What about obtaining rages for gau? This could make the game a lot easier.

Sprint shoes i consider as a nesscity but as they are still a relic they will not be allowed in this challange. The Tools as far as i know Edgar only gets the autocross bow so i will allow that everything els that does not come with him wont be allowed. Rages you could get cause they are an ablity keep in mind though that could eat away at your time remember i am trying to make it 40 hours. Otherwise have fun.

How about a no-exp game? That's a pretty easy challenge, all things considered... I pulled it off, and many others have before me, so it shouldn't be anything too hard. Under 40 hours, too; no levelling up REALLY cuts down on play time.

The only really hard bit, I found, was the part where you leap onto the floating continent. The host of battles before the two (technically three) boss fights makes it very hard. On top of that, you have no way of healing yourself between the two boss battles, the second of which is practically opened by a highly damaging party-hitter. Ouch.

I think leveling will be hindered abit by the time limit, depending on the skill of the player and all. You could probly set your own challange but for now my pretty much stands the way it is. On a side not i forgot what i want you to do put down when you type your status in here, i need you to list the charectors you have used, there levels, weapons and armor(to make sure youd dont cheat), the time, and how much money you have. Also one other thing i forgot to mention was you may buy shirkins and skeans for shadow but that is all.

im on the wolrd of ruin with 8 hours on the clock (i got mogs dances including the time consuming water rondo,) However for some odd reason i had no prombelm with ultros even though im using only intial equipment and lvl 20 right now. but the 024 boss (the one that looks like the magi master before you get 6 espers) was a very very prolonged battle ( i had ice 1 and fire 1 ) however in the WoR the first boss (4 tentacles) keeps owning me any ideas? i use vanish + haste+ reflect however i cant kill them fast enough before refect wears off T.T

you cant do vanish and doom on then huh? let me see try casting shell or is it safe...well anyways try casting one befor you cast reflect and hope it lasts.

Seriously, it's very possible to do this. It can be done at level 8 without vanish/doom, so at your level you should have no problem.

ABUSE Gau like crazy. In a low-level game, he's THE damage-maker for the first half of the game. WildCat (is that the name...?) is a very good rage because it does nice non-elemental damage. Brawler too, in some instances. Slap a wallring on Gau and just make sure your party doesn't run out of phoenix downs. Piece of cake.

Edit: God, I read that post wrong. Heh. Wrong boss.

Wall ring. Yep. Let the one that casts poison get the rest of the tentacles. That'll just leave one tentacle to worry about. At this point, if you can't beat it, you suck. Just stockpile phoenix downs and potions beforehand and the fight's yours. In my level 8 game, Edgar died pretty fast because he had no wall ring (you don't get a shot at tweaking his equipment before the fight). I just let him die and had Celes and Sabin sit there and heal. When the last tentacle was left standing I just had one character heal/revive and the other damage it.

Piece of cake.

Edit2: Oh yeah, stick everyone in the back row. Believe me, it makes a difference. I played through the whole game in the back row during my low-level game otherwise I'd die instantly. In the back row, I could usually live a little bit even against some of the later bosses. You WILL have characters die often; hence the need for phoenix downs.

silver lance you have been here almost since this started you should know he cant use relics. your safest bet is to use shell to cut down on magic damage, try using magicite and hope that you get carbuncle alot.

you cant equip any relics though for this challenge =/ otherwise i would oh i would that and running shoes

Golem and Fenrir will both really help here, as they will stop the Seizing for a moment. Use Bio Blaster to inflict the Poison status, that should help on the damage department.

Don't forget that Vanish and Reflect won't stack: if you're vanished and under the influence of reflect, spells (Poison, Bio) will still hurt you.

Bio Blaster with Edgar, summon Golem and Fenrir with Celes/Edgar and make healing your first priority. Three out of four Tentacles will die, and when you still can't win then, SilverLance makes a good point
