I just want to start a little friendly topic here as to who thinks they went through the game the most impressively. This would probably include lowest level you beat Kefka's Tower at and not using Esper's, vanish/doom tric, etc ...

Right now I am going through the game and I just finished the 2nd Scenario in the 3 Way Scenario split after the Raft Ride battle out of the Returner hideout and my characters are all Level 10 or lower. I don't know how this would compare to someone else going through at lowest level possible, but Ultros could 1 hit kill any of my characters. =/ Right now it's getting rough trying to avoid any XP gain to stay low level. Also, when I get Espers I'm not going to equip any of them to any of my characters until after I've defeated Kefka's Tower once.

That is insane. I can not match up with that. You rock. I would drive myself crazy and continuosly hit myself in the head before I would even get to Ultros. Like I said, this is insanely awsome.

I just want to go through the game and find the most valuable characters without any modded attributes or skills. I want to use everyone for their own natural skills and abilities. I have a feeling Sabin's bum rush is going to be very useful for me. cool.gif

If you don't level, can't you not use blitzes beyond the first one? Maybe I'm confused.

I've already done such a feet... I used no espers to gain any specialities or magic. I went through the game with only the given abilities. And it's actually easier than it sounds. Sabin is the jack of all trades in this scenario... His blitzes are helpful in all aspects; pure attacking- Pummel, Suplex... elemental attacks- Fire Dance, Aura Bolt, Air Blade... resoring HP and status- Mantra, Spiraler.. and the omnipowerful Bum Rush....

I've beaten the final battles with only Sabin and Shadow... but that's not that much of a feet either. Just keep hitting and coming on... Elixir if HP got low. Usually it'd be Sabin using Air Blade (for the multiple enemy battles) then Bum Rush.... Shadow consistantly throwing whatever was in the inventory.

In the same game, I defeated the IAF and went through the Floating Continent part with only Celes.. (i didn't even bother to get Shadow when he was there) It took me a good 3 or 4 times to get through, but I did. It was a real pain dealing with Atma Weapon though, but I only lost twice to him.

That's about all I've done... none of which is really that "impressive" if you will... but, it was a challenge

Impressive, yet very boring if you ask me. I'd rather make monsters more powerful so that you actually have to use your best abilities. It's much more interesting and exciting.

Bum Rush is the only Blitz that can be learned without level gains, but I remember him starting with the first two or three Blitzes.

I just want to see what the lowest possible level is for me to beat Kefka at. Sabin starts with first 3 blitzes.

Well, this isnt really an IMPRESSIVE way to play the game necessarily, but it is a fun idea for someone who may want to replay the game: before every mission or new level (once you have enough characters to do so) choose a team of characters at complete random but dont train them to gain magic/stats, just play through the game with an ever changing line up of characters and make do with what skills/levels they gain as you progress.

That's a cool idea. But I still think the most impressive way to go through the game is just to play it and enjoy the storyline as you do. Empathize with the characters. Think about how they relate, and how they don't. Consider symbolism and allegorical traits. Think deeper about the game, and also try viewing it as a piece of literature--a novel or movie, if you will.

I always think about it the way you stated =). I love the storyline to this game. I would love to see it as a novel or movie even. *Gasp* Who would make a movie of this? Hehe ...

if you max sabin out, he WILL learn bum rush. i went thru the game in a CES mode, and decided to go back and retrieve every one. i went for sabin first, and BOOM! he had it. dry.gif

yea, but his whole thing is to go through the game on as low a level as possible, so maxing Sabin out is kinda contradictary to his plan

btw, cool plan thumbup.gif I tried it once, but I really haven't that much patience tongue.gif

Also I never use Sprint Shoes. I have those stupid things. I can actually say I have never used them after I figured out what they did. Why waste a Relic slot just so you can get through the game faster .. come on people. This might be a foolish thought but ... *poo* on you.

Anyway, I know Sabin will be my most useful character in my no Esper / no leveling up game. Gau is who I'm also looking forward to the most. He is indeed a great standard character.

wacko.gif Haha, that's a funny face.

Okay, back to FFVI. I wish there was an invisible all the time ring. That'd be cool. Only drawback would be if someone casts doom on you, then your dead. sad.gif

Anyone know any other element I could add to my low level game to make it more impressive? Like something I shouldn't use?

In case anyone's wondering, I beat Kefka at levels 44 (Celes) to 51 (Strago). I equipped no economizers, genji gloves, offerings, or gem boxes. I think the only character who had his/her best weapon equipped was Setzer with his Fixed Dice. Took me forever to smash that obelisk, especially since I used predominantly physical attacks plus Cure2, Cure3, and Life2, but I did it.

And, Chaos Knight--I would make a movie out of FFVI. If someone can make a great movie out of it, I am sure it would be really very successful.

Play through the game with imps (once you get the spell). That'd be really boring, yet impressive anyway (I think... not really much room for strategy there). dry.gif

That would be the most impressive way to get through the game. I don't see, however, if that is actually possible. If someone can actually do that, they would be considered the most strategic player.

Sorry, I'm not gonna go through the game with diseased looking character imps. Think of another thing I could do. I think I've already got the main plan to my game tho.
